Man United players losing trust in Andre Onana

Man United squad are starting to lose their faith in Andre Onana.

Club legend Peter Schmeichel says that the players are losing their trust in Andre Onana who arrived from Inter Milan this summer.

The Cameroonian goalkeeper was brought in to replace legendary David de Gea who left Old Trafford in this transfer window.

It hasn’t exactly worked out for the former Inter Milan goalkeeper as he made several shot-stopping errors that demoralised him.

United have already conceded 19 goals in 11 matches and many have questioned Onana’s ability in between the sticks.

Schmeichel explains how the squad will slowly start losing faith in him.

“I think a lot of that [Onana’s mistakes] is pressure. I spoke to him after Bayern. I spoke to him after Galatasaray as well and he was very down on the mistakes he made,” Schmeichel told Premier League Productions.

“I’m trying to speak to him about what it’s like being at Manchester United and why whatever [mistakes] you’ve made, you have to put it in a box and put it to the side.

“You have to be there for the next moment. If you’re not, you’ll make the next mistake. And now he’s upset the whole team. They will now not trust him even more, and my god, it’s not good.”
