Manager Erik ten Hag not worried about the sack

Erik ten Hag explains there’s no concern over his job.

The Dutch manager has been under-fire this season and after Tuesday’s Champions League exit.

United are eliminated from all European competition this season and cost them a minimum of £20m in future revenue.

The Red Devils accumulated just four points from their six Champions League games and won only a game against Copenhagen.

Under Ten Hag, United finished third in the Premier League, won the Carabao Cup and reached the FA Cup final last season.

But the club are having their worst start to a season in the last 50 years and Ten Hag’s position at United has come under intense scrutiny.

Now the Dutchman will have the difficult task of traveling to Liverpool as the side suffered a 7-0 humiliation in last year’s corresponding fixture.

New owners Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are expected to sack the Dutchman and Ten Hag would be the fifth manager given the sack since Sir Alex Ferguson’s 2013 retirement.

But the Dutchman revealed that the club’s executive has assured his position is safe at the club.

“No, there’s no concern because I’m here to win and I have to make the team play better,” the Dutchman said.

“If you play good, even then I say good is not good enough, and now we are inconsistent, so I have to work on that the team is going to play for longer periods in a high level.”
