Manchester United are lining up a deal for Premier League star in January

Jose Mourinho reportedly wants to make a point

Jose Mourinho prioritized bolstering his squad during the summer transfer window after an underwhelming campaign last season, not winning a single silverware. They finished second in the Premier League, 19 points behind Manchester City.

The Premier League giants secured three signings during the transfer window, teenage full-back Diogo Dalot from Porto, while a £52.5 million fee was agreed with Shakhtar Donetsk for Brazil international Fred and goalkeeper Lee Grant from Stoke City.

The Portuguese expressed his frustration few times as the club failed to add any more players he wanted before the transfer deadline. He wanted a fast, direct winger and an experienced centre-back to complete his squad.

However, it has been reported that he will be backed by the Premier League giants during the January transfer window and are eyeing a move for a player that was also identified during the summer.

Manchester United are lining up a winter window deal for Ryan Sessegnon, according to the Express.

He has been at the club since 2008 and made his senior debut back in 2016/2017 campaign. He has been a mainstay in the defense since joining them and established himself as one the best full-back in the Country.

The 18 year old is considered as one of the hottest properties in the Premier League right now and enjoyed a phenomenal campaign in the Championship last season. He scored 16 goals and assisted 8 in 49 appearances, helping them to earn promotion in the Premier League.

The full-back was heavily linked with a move away throughout the summer but he wanted to stay at Craven Cottage after earning promotion. The Red Devils also didn’t follow up as Luke Shaw decided to stay and prove himself this season.

Mourinho wants to make a point by landing the prized youngster from Fulham after a disappointing summer transfer window.

Sessegnon has featured in both the club’s opening Premier League but the club are still waiting for their first points.
