Reports are currently stating that Romelu Lukaku can easily be sent off to the Serie A, either to Juventus or Inter Milan this summer 2019. The Belgian striker is involved in a bid from the Nerazzurri and also in an exchange offer from Juve for Paulo Dybala.

If the Belgian were to be moved out, should United include a buy-back clause into his contract? He is still only 26 years old and cost the side around £90m two years back. Would it not be wise to hold some equity on his future, a striker who can grow into a lethal weapon in the future?

4. Sean Goss – Manchester United Academy Products Sold With Buy-Back Clauses

Sean Goss was a Manchester United youth product with bags of potential under his boots. The German-born midfielder was signed by the Red Devils from the Exeter youth team when he was 17. He played for the Old Trafford Academy for three years before graduating to the senior side in 2015.

While the midfielder never played a competitive first-team game for United, he appeared in a preseason game in 2015 and was an unused substitute in the 2015/16 Premier League season. He spent the majority of his two years with the United senior side, playing reserve games.

In 2017, Goss signed with Championship outfit, Queens Park Rangers for a fee of around £500,000. He struggled to establish himself at Loftus Road, being sent out on loan to Rangers in January 2018 to prove his worth. The midfielder lit up the Scottish Premiership with his creative skills, making 13 appearances and registering 2 goals.

At only 22 years old, Goss has started showing signs of the potential that gained him such a high reputation in Manchester. Adnan Januzaj was another Manchester United youth product who once was tipped to be the “Lionel Messi” of the Premier League.

His performances were so impressive that he earned a callup to the Belgium squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He ended up curling in a wonderful goal against England in the group stages.

2. Wilfried Zaha

This Premier League winger, who is being so heavily chased by Arsenal was once a Manchester United player. Zaha was the last signing Sir Alex Ferguson made as the Red Devils manager. So, there is a certain bit of pressure attested to his name, where he goes and whatnot.

Zaha was brought in for £15m but his debut and only season under David Moyes was not the most lucrative. He was involved in several controversies, including one with the manager’s daughter and he was failing on the pitch as well.

It might have been a move far too soon for the young winger then as he moved back to Crystal Palace a year later for around £3m. Five years on, Zaha is one of the most lethal wingers in the Premier League and is being heavily courted by United’s direct rivals.
