Manchester United Receive Shock News Of Erling Haaland Priced At Only €20m

Manchester United have been dealt mixed blows in their pursuit of Red Bull Salzburg’s Erling Haaland.

It was revealed earlier that United were chasing after the Norwegian forward who has struck 28 goals in 22 games this season.

However, just hours after getting knocked out of the Champions League, Haaland flew to Germany to discuss his future with Borussia Dortmund. Reliable sources claim the 19-year-old and his agent, Mino Raiola was picked up by a BVB representative and taken straight to their headquarters.

The even more surprising twist in the Haaland transfer saga is his release clause. He is not worth €100m or so that news outlets have been quoting all this while. Now, reports are claiming that his signature can be bought with just €20m and BVB were the first ones to jump on this epic discount voucher.

This is certainly a blow in the wrong direction for United. Were they aware of Haaland’s price tag, they could have pursued a deal much sooner, given their struggles up front this season.

With Romelu Lukaku gone and Anthony Martial constantly struggling with injuries, Ole Solskjaer has found it hard to rotate his forward line. Marcus Rashford’s terrific form has come at a cost of him being played in every single game. It is only a matter of time before fatigue hits the England international.
