Manchester United New Signing Lapped Up Praise From England Greats

Jadon Sancho finally got his first start for England in the 2020 Euros.

He played the full 90 in the 4-0 win over Ukraine on Friday.

“I’ll tell you one thing, next season at Manchester United he’ll have people off their seats,” said Ferdinand on BBC Sport after the game.

“There were moments in this game where he draws your breathe and you think, “Ooh, wow, that’s different!”

“He’s a fabulous talent, we know that, but mentally he’s very strong and he’s got a desire to be as good as he could be and wants to fulfil that potential.

“Players that can up the tempo of a game are different and they mean something different to your team and they can change a game the way he did tonight.

“One-twos, playing with composure, playing off both feet, end product.

“This is his first game by the way in the tournament and he comes in and plays the way he did today and creates moments. It shows you the talent that’s there.”

Lampard added: “I think there’s a natural balance and acceleration in him, and movement. This is not the norm.

“And fortunately for England now in our squad we have a few players like this, these incredible talents in attacking areas.

“But he completely vindicates Gareth’s decision to play him today, because of what he brought. He wanted a bit of something more direct, he wanted a right footer, he wanted someone off the side.

“As Rio says, the maturity for a young kid to come in and show it in a game of this level says a lot about his mentality as well. We’ve got a special player coming to the Premier League.”

Jadon Sancho will join Manchester United after the Euros.

The 21-year old forward will join the Red Devils after the club finalised a deal of £73m for the England international.

Sancho scored 50 goals and assisted 64 more in 137 appearances for Borussia Dortmund and returns to Manchester four years after leaving United’s rivals, Man City.

Club captain Harry Maguire is confident that Sancho will have a huge success in the years to come.

Maguire said: “When he does sign, I’m sure he’s going to have a great career for United and be a big part of us being successful in the future.

“Jadon’s a top player. He has exceptional talent even though he is still really young, although he has played so many games.

“We’ve got some exceptional talent in his position in this England team so Jadon will bide his time, be patient and be ready when his opportunity comes.

“I’ve been really impressed with the way he has been working in training. He’s really putting a shift in day in day out. He has some great talent. He is scoring goals in the five-a-sides and so on. He’s a great lad.”

Jadon Sancho Agreement Completed, Move To Be Announced Soon

Manchester United have finally made a breakthrough in negotiations for Jadon Sancho.

Borussia Dortmund are set to accept a €90m bid with add-ons for the marquee winger.

United have been pursuing Sancho for well over two years now. They missed out on his signature last summer due to his asking price of €120m. After one season his fee dropped significantly due to his contract length.

BVB got 16 goals and 20 assists out of him last term, being well rewarded with Champions League football for 2021/22. Sancho has developed at a meteoric rate since his move to Germany as a 17-year-old.

The England international broke out as a prolific talent from the right wing of Dortmund. He became their creative heartbeat and an attacking talisman right until Erling Haaland’s arrival. Sancho might finally be able to solve United’s attacking issues down the right flank.

Man United legend defends Paul Pogba after France criticism

Paul Pogba received criticism for his performance against Switzerland.

The World Cup winners were knocked out of the tournament in an intense penalty shootout by Switzerland.

Paul Pogba made an impressive curler from outside the box into the top corner to secure France’s 3-1 lead in the last fifteen minutes.

He was then criticised for giving the ball away near the halfway line in the build-up to the goal of substitute Mario Gavranovic.

“I thought he was brilliant,” said Andy Cole. “He proved to everyone just how good a player he is. Yeah, you’re still going to have people question him. A lot of people try to blame him for the third goal but I can’t get my head around that. If you lose the ball in their half, trying to create something, and then they run basically half a pitch to score a goal, that means his team-mates didn’t help him particularly well. If you’re going to blame him for that goal… It is what it is, but he proved just how good a player he is.

“You can talk about he gave the ball away, but we all give the ball away. Mbappe missed a great chance when he should have gone inside on his right foot – has anyone mentioned that? It’s a Paul Pogba thing, I think. It was definitely a brilliant penalty too – he did everything well last night.

“I think he’ll be bitterly disappointed. Like you said, with the performance he put in as well, I thought he was brilliant. I listened to some of the comments and people were trying to [laughs]… I genuinely believed football was a team game. I genuinely did believe there were 11 players out there.

“We can all sit here and pick up on people’s negatives and what they didn’t do. Let’s talk about his positives and what he did do. France have gone out, yeah, and were the better team. But, when it goes to penalties, it’s a lottery and they weren’t good enough on penalties.”

Rennes Chief Responds To Manchester United’s Bid For Camavinga

Rennes Chief Responds To Manchester United's Bid For Camavinga

Manchester United have not forwarded a bid yet for Eduardo Camavinga.

That is according to Rennes chief Florian Maurice.

Camavinga is one of Ole Solskjaer’s main transfer targets this summer. The 18-year-old is a hot prospect being currently pursued by a host of European giants. Premier League rivals, Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested in his services.

Speaking to TV Rennes, Maurice said of United’s rumoured interest: “No offer was received for Eduardo Camavinga, neither from PSG nor from Manchester United.

“We remain calm about his situation. I know he doesn’t want to go free.”

One other player Manchester United could end up signing is Atletico Madrid’s Diego Llorente. The player himself is open to a move away but admits, he is happy in Spain.

“I have many years left (on my contract). My idea is to stay, I’m fine, I’m happy at Atletico Madrid,” he said. “We have had a great season winning La Liga. Anything can happen in football, but I don’t think about that kind of thing.”

Ole Solskjaer is clearly looking to address the gaps in his midfield. He needs more technically capable player who can add energy and substance on both ends of the pitch.

Luke Shaw Hits Back At Mourinho For Criticism

Luke Shaw Hits Back At Mourinho For Criticism

Jose Mourinho criticised Luke Shaw for his poor spot kicks for England in the 2020 Euros.

After England’s win over the Czech Republic, Mourinho told talkSPORT, “The negative thing I would say is once more they were very poor on attacking corners.

“The service was dramatically bad. They have so many good players to attack corners. The crosses are not passing the first man.

“Luke Shaw, in my opinion, very good tonight but very poor on the corner. [Kalvin] Phillips, the same. England has great power at this level and going to knockouts, one corner can decide a game.”

But Luke Shaw was having none of it. He hit back at the former United boss for constantly taking digs at him.

Shaw said: “I don’t understand it. I don’t know why he is still going on and wanting to point at me.

“I don’t feel like the set-pieces were as bad as he was saying. I might have done one in the second half, a corner, that didn’t get over the first man. But that was one out of three. The other two or three, I don’t think, were as ‘dramatically bad’ as he says.

“Look, he has got to do his job. I’m used to him saying negative stuff about me, so I just pass it by.

“His voice is obviously very big. He likes to talk a lot about me, as everyone has seen recently. But his voice is his own. He can say what he wants, I will focus on myself. I take set-pieces at United, so it wasn’t as if it was something I wasn’t ready for.”

Diogo Dalot’s father gives an update on his son’s future at Man United

Diogo Dalot will return to Manchester United in the summer.

The Portuguese defender spent a year-long loan at AC Milan and Milan reportedly wanted to make a permanent move for him this summer.

His dad Jacinto Teixeira has reassured that his son will return to Old Trafford who was recently a late inclusion in the Portugal squad for the European Championship.

“Diogo spent a year on loan at Milan and will now return to Manchester United,” Teixeira told Antena 1 via O Jogo.

“It was an absolutely extraordinary year for him, with a great evolution, where, above all, he managed to recover his physical form after two very serious injuries in the last two years.

“Against France he [Dalot] responded to what was asked of him. As for starting the next game, that will depend on the coach’s choice, but he’s prepared. I felt he was happy, calm. I felt enormous pride when I realised he was taking the vest to replace Semedo.

“Without a doubt that this showcase of the European championship, with millions and millions of spectators around the world, will give him more visibility and also more responsibility. I think he’s perfectly aware of that.”

Famous journalist gives an update on Jadon Sancho transfer talks

Manchester United have made a second bid for Jadon Sancho.

Borussia Dortmund have already started to look at potential replacements for Jadon Sancho.

The Red Devils made an offer in excess of £75 million and it is an improvement on the first offer.

German journalist Patrick Berger believes people in Manchester United don’t value Sancho highly enough.

He said: “All the people in Dortmund, they say to me that they expect Jadon to leave. So they are looking for new replacements. Noni Madueke and also Donyell Malen – they are the top candidates as a successor of Jadon Sancho.

“I talked to two bosses of Borussia Dortmund, they said, ‘hey, I don’t know why Manchester United don’t get us the money’ – the 90 million. The people from Dortmund think that Manchester United don’t know how good Jadon really is. You see it in England, the appreciation is more different in England than in Germany.

“In Germany, he’s a hero, he’s one of the best players in the German Bundesliga. You guys would see it in England, he’s not playing at the English national team and this is a big problem.”
