Marouane Fellaini offered a three year deal by AC Milan

The midfielder’s contract expires this summer

Marouane Fellaini joined Manchester United from Everton £27.5 million, signing a four year contract with an option to extend one year in 2013.

The midfielder though has struggled to establish himself as a regular for the club and often used as an impact sub by the managers. He has often been linked with a move away from the club in the previous transfer windows.

The 30 year old was very close to joining Galatasaray last summer but a deal never went through as Jose Mourinho wanted him to stay another year. The club exercised the option to extend his contract by one year.

The Belgian International has had limited chances under Mourinho this campaign as there was lot of competition in the midfield. His contract is set to expire next month and likely to leave the club on a free transfer as he is yet to agree a new deal with the club.

Both the sides desire to reach an agreement and the Red Devils have offered him a deal which will keep him at the for another season with an option for another 12 months. But Fellaini wants a longer deal of guranteed 2 years with an option for another one.

Former Everton star has been linked with a host of clubs ahead of the transfer window. Recently he has been linked with a move to AC Milan.

The Serie A giants stepped up their interest by offering Fellaini a three-year deal, a contract more in keeping with his demands, reports ESPN.

The reports also claim that the Belgian has moved out of his Cheshire home as he considers accepting a lucrative offer from AC Milan.

Nemanja Matic wants the manager to receive financial backing

Manchester United have finished the the 2017-2018 season trophyless, after being the closest challengers to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Premier League. They were runners up again as they lost to Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

The Premier League giants are expected to invest heavily in the summer to bolster their squad for the next season. The club will also look to sell some players in order to accommodate new players.

United’s midfielder Nemanja Matic has urged the club to back Jose Mourinho in the summer transfer window so he can add few more good players to the team. He believes that they can compete for major honours next season with high quality additions.

Matic joined the Red Devils from Chelsea last summer and was reunited with Mourinho, previously working with him when he was Blue’s manager. The Serbian has been pivotal and one of the best players of the team this season.

“I think with a few more good players in the squad we can fight for the title, of course, and I’m sure we will do it,” said the Serbia international.

On United’s performance against his former club at Wembley, Matic added: “I don’t know what we did wrong but we had one mistake when we conceded the goal, but I think that we played good football for 90 minutes.

“I think that we deserved more but this is football, one mistake and sometimes you can lose the game and this is what has happened to us.

“I’m not disappointed, we tried, obviously we tried but we played against a very good squad, the defense is very organised, it’s not easy to create the chances. We had some that we didn’t use. To win the game you have to score goals but as I said I think we deserve more.”

The Portuguese wants to strengthen his squad for next season

Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad this summer after falling behind Manchester city in the Premier League this season. Their priority is to add defensive reinforcements but will also look to add attacking options.

Jose Mourinho is reportedly eager to add creativity and physicality to his squad in order to challenge for the title nest season.

The Portuguese manager called the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich to discuss potential deals for James Rodriguez and David Alaba, reports Don Balon quoted by dailystar.

Despite having the most clean sheets and the second best defensive record in the Premier League this season, Mourinho is not happy as he had to rely on auxiliary full-backs and failed to settle on a consistent central defensive axis due to injuries.

Luke Shaw is expected to leave the club this summer and a new left-back is high on club’s transfer agenda after muddling through the campaign with Ashley Young filling the position.

Alaba has established himself as one world’s best left-back after constant solid performances for the German giants during the past few seasons. He has won seven consecutive Bundesliga titles but could seek a fresh challenge.

Speaking in March, he said: “I am aware that this decision will come to me and I still feel very comfortable here, but I can also imagine taking a different path, taking the next step or looking for a new challenge.

“I am at an age where I have had a lot of experience and where I would like to take the next step in my career.”

Rodriguez joined Bayern from Real Madrid on a two year loan deal last summer and has been a crucial part of their domestic dominance. The Club have an option to convert his loan into a permanent move for £36.7 million.

But signing the Columbia International would be difficult for the Premier League giants as the player is eager to move to the German club on a permanent deal.

“I’m doing very well,” the Colombian said earlier this month.

“It’s a good league here in Germany, the stadiums are full. I came here with a different perception.

“I’m fine, I hope I stay here. I feel very good.”

Ander Herrera expects to stay at Manchester United beyond this season

Ander Herrera expects to stay at Manchester United beyond this season

The midfielder is approaching final 12 months of his contract

Ander Herrera joined Manchester United from Athletic Bilbao for €40 million in 2014, after he activated his buy out clause. The midfielder has been a key player since joining and has won FA Cup, Europa League and League Cup with the club. He was presented the Matt Busby Player of the Year last season.

But the 28 year has been left out of Jose Mourinho’s starting XI at various points this season, starting just 13 of his 26 league games. The Red Devils are expected to invest heavily in the squad this season and one of their priorities is to sign new midfielders.

The Spaniard is approaching the final 12 months of his contract and has been linked with a summer exit.

But Herrera insists he has no plans to leave the club this summer and expects to stay for a long time unless the Premier League giants decide to sell him.

“My future is the FA Cup final. I want to be here next season and unless the club sack me, I will be here in pre-season and fight to keep adding games to my total,” he said, as quoted by The Guardian.

“In football, what today is black is white tomorrow. So if you think about what can happen in the summer, maybe the club signs four midfielders and they don’t want me any more.

“The only thing I can do is train well today and train well tomorrow. That’s all I can say – and of course if the club wants to talk to me [to extend my contract, which runs out in June 2019] I will listen to them because I am happy here.”

The 28-year-old says he is used to being in and out of the United squad and can deal with the disappointment of being left out by Mourinho.

“I don’t think if you don’t take your chance it’s the last chance you have in the season,” he said. “I don’t go crazy when I don’t have my best game and say: ‘Oof, I’ve lost my chance, I’m not going to play again’.

“I know some of my team-mates, and some footballers, are up and down. If I play well I’m not very happy and if I play badly I’m not very sad. My age and experience has helped me keep that balance.

“If you work hard and respect the ones who are playing at that moment but try to give everything you have, whether that’s five minutes or 30 minutes, sooner or later football is fair. I really believe that.”

The midfielder have no desire for summer move

Manchester United have prioritized signing a world class midfielder in the summer as Michael Carrick will retire at the end of the season and Marouane Fellaini’s future is yet uncertain.

The Premier League giants have been linked to host of midfielders like Napoli’s Jorginho, Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic Savic and Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fred.

They are also interested in Wolverhampton Wanderers star Ruben Neves.

Ruben joined Wolves from Porto for £16 million last summer and has been a revelation for the club this season. He has caught attention with his array of impressive performances while helping his team to earn promotion to the Premier League.

The Portuguese, known for scoring wonder goals, has scored six goals and assisted one in the Championship. He has already linked with host of top Premier League clubs.

But the 21 year old has admitted that he has no desire for a summer move and believes it would be a risk for him to change clubs.

He told O Jogo as quoted by Talksport: “Right now it’s not good for me to risk a way out. I feel very good at Wolverhampton, I have no reason to leave because I’m going to play in the best league in the world.

“The fans already know me, the club too and everyone knows what I can do for the club.

“I spent a great year there and I love playing at Wolverhampton. Therefore, I have no interest in going out, because it’s the best for me and for my future.

“I came to evolve as a player and now that I’m maybe in the best phase of my career it would be a very big risk changing club. This is the right path.”

The France International was pivotal for the team in his first season and helped the club to win the League cup and Europa League.

The 25 year old started this season off positively but was benched following few poor performances. His form has often been questioned this season and Jose Mourinho even criticized him.

But the Frenchman responded with brilliant performances towards the end of the season and won the United’s Player of the month for April. He has scored six goals and assisted 11 in all competitions for the club.

Pogba’s National teammate Oliver Giroud considers him to be a huge talent and has backed him to be a success at Manchester United.

“He is one of the people Chelsea have to worry about – he is one of their key players,” Giroud told the Evening Standard.

“Paul is a special personality. He’s very committed on the pitch, he is passionate. He is a very good player and he has shown it.

“Has the Premier League seen the best of him? Paul is still young and there is a lot of expectation around him because he has a lot of talent.

“People are never patient with this kind of player.

“He just needs to carry on improving – he can improve a lot. Obviously he has a huge talent. We will see more and more of his quality in the future.

“I just hope it will come after the game on Saturday.”

Jose Mourinho wants to sign two new full-backs

Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad this summer after falling behind Manchester city in the Premier League this season. Their priority is to add defensive reinforcements as the club are also expected to sell few players.

Despite having the most clean sheets and the second best defensive record in the Premier League this season, Jose Mourinho is not happy as he had to rely on auxiliary full-backs and failed to settle on a consistent central defensive axis due to injuries.

Both Matteo Dramian and Luke Shaw are expected to leave the club at the end of the season, after failing to establish themselves under the Portugues. The manager wants to sign two new full-backs in order to strengthen the squad for next season.

Manchester United have identified Atletico Madrid right-back Sime Vrsaljko as a potential off-season signing, reports the Daily Mail.

Vrsaljko joined Atletico from Sassuolo for £14.5 million in 2016, penning a five year deal with the outfit. The 26 year has been solid for the club this season, making 30 appearances for the club.

But the La Liga giants wants to cash in on him as they are looking to reinforce other areas. They would likely demand a fee of £30 million for the Croatia International.

Mourinho wants Vrsaljko to provide competition to Antonio Valencia in the right-back position. But the player can also cover at left-back and is known for his pin point crossing.

Jose Mourinho wants to overhaul his defense this summer

Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad this summer after falling behind Manchester city in the Premier League this season. Their priority is to add defensive reinforcements as the club are also expected to sell few players.

Despite having the most clean sheets and the second best defensive record in the Premier League this season, Jose Mourinho is not happy as he had to rely on auxiliary full-backs and failed to settle on a consistent central defensive axis due to injuries.

The Red Devils are one of the clubs leading the chase for AC Milan Defender Leonardo Bonucci,  reports The Sun. Jose Mourinho has already contacted him ahead of the summer transfer window.

Bonucci, who is rated as one of the finest defenders in the world, joined Milan from rivals Juventus last summer. But has endured a trouble campaign and has been the victim of instability at the club.

After spending around £200 million last summer to strengthen the squad, the Serie A giants couldn’t finish in the top four and will miss the Champions League next season. The club will be forced to sell some of their assets this summer in order to comply with the Financial Fair Play regulations.

The 31 year old is one of the players who the club will be forced to sell and Jose Mourinho’s side are willing to take advantage of the situation.

But United could face stiff competition from Bayern Munich who are also interested in the defender. They are willing to take him on a loan deal with an obligation to buy for around £35 million.

Chelsea were interested in signing Bonucci last summer and still could be interested but his preference is to play in the Champions League again after missing a year.
