The saga is over, Lukaku has quit Manchester United after two years at the club.

Inter beat rival Juventus for the signature of the Belgian striker, who flew to Italy for medical checks today.

Romelu Lukaku has officially become a new Inter player after Manchester United accepted the the latest offer of €65 million plus €13 million in bonuses for the striker, the Italian club has confirmed.

Lukaku arrived in Italy this morning to put his signature on the Inter contract, as he was seen looking happy on the private jet with his agent Federico Pastorello last night. Whilst arriving at the airport in Italy, he was greeted by a number of journalists and a group of 200 Nerazurri fans, who welcomed him with various chants.

The 26-year-old Belgian international, who ends his United spell with 42 goals in 96 appearances in all competitions, was poised to join the Milanese club and during the previous week, his relationship with the Manchester boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had worsened. As a result, he was fined for missing training without authorization after being seen training with former side, Anderlecht.

A brand as professional as United couldn’t and definitely, wouldn’t want to have to deal with such behavior by their players, especially not by Lukaku – a striker who was unsuccessful in delivering what was expected of him, and has failed to continue his Everton shape.
