Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Insists Alexis Sanchez Will Only Get Better With Time

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praises Alexis Sanchez’s display in the 3-1 win over Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round but insists the forward can be much much better in next matches.

The manager hoped for a strong performance as he included the Chilean in the starting lineup against his former club and the 30 year old didn’t disappoint as he had a quite eventful evening netting the opener for the Red Devils at the Emirates.

Since Sanchez’s arrival, he has been limited to fewer appearances due to his persistent injury problems. Also, Jose Mourinho’s negative mindset had an adverse impact on his gameplay.

But the introduction of Solskjaer could be a big boon for him as the former Barcelona attacker could be used in his natural free flowing role again.

Solskjaer said, “It wasn’t like Alexis had an open goal, it was a great finish.

“Every player, the more confident you get the more you want to get on the pitch and train and work on yourself and you trust yourself.

“He has been injured lately so it was great to see him get 65-70 minutes tonight and he can only improve and I think he knows that himself.”
