Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deserves credit for reshaping Anthony Martial at Old Trafford.

The French striker has been in colossal form this season netting 23 goals in all competitions.

His recent goal was involved in a late winner against LASK in their Europa League last-16-second-leg tie at Old Trafford.

United legend Paul Scholes believes that Solskjaer deserves a compliment for his part in remoulding Martial into a lethal striker who is always hungry for goals.

“He’s been terrific this season, probably one of the players of the season for Manchester United and tonight was no different,” Scholes told BT Sport.

“I’ve been really impressed with Martial, I know he’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I really like him and I think he’s been brilliant this season. Hopefully there’s a lot more to come from him, not only in the next two weeks but also next season as well.

“I think when Ole first came in, I don’t think Martial was hungry enough for goals. I don’t think he lived on goals, even in training maybe he wasn’t doing his finishing and doing his practicing.

“I think Ole has really put that into him because he knows what he is capable of. He’s quick, he’s skillful, he can fly past people, he’s very difficult to play against but he’s added to his finishing and his goal scoring.

“There is no doubt that this season he has really done that and there was a little nod to Ole after the goal to show that.”
