Sir Alex Ferguson has said that Manchester United will always be a happy place for youngsters.

He told talkSPORT: “They’re all doing well.

“It’s a good set up at United. For any young kid going there, it’s a great club to go to.

“And I think England are producing great young players who are representing their country and that can only be a good thing.

“Hopefully Scotland can follow that!”

He explained: “The thing about young people is, if you give them an opportunity, not only do they seize it, they never let you down.

“They have enthusiasm to do well.”

“If we go back to the young lads of ‘92, you give them an opportunity to play for Man United in front of 75,000 and they don’t want to miss that,” the legendary coach added.

“And they all did very well, and they’re also very good human beings.”

Yeah, it’s a clear gap in the league between the top four,” he said.

“There are, I don’t know, many teams, within a range of three or four points. So, for us, it’s about consistency now and getting as many points on the board as we can.

“We turned a corner we felt, performance-wise and results-wise after the last international break, but, then again, it’s so tight and I’m just looking forward to this game. We need to have a good performance and a result.”
