Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has heaped praise on youngster Brandon Williams following their 1-0 victory over Partizan Belgrade yesterday.

United finally ended their winless streak in 11 games after Anthony Martial’s spot-kick goal proved to be the difference between the two sides. And, Solskjaer was pleased to see the determination and hunger shown by the young left-back in the game.

“Brandon [Williams] was Man of the Match, and I thought he was absolutely excellent,” Solskjaer said after the match. “Fantastic attitude. Great defending, great in the air. He gets us the penalty by driving with the ball forward. I didn’t think he put a foot wrong,” said Solskjaer.

“He’s been fantastic in the games he’s played, and the boy has no fear. He’s as brave as a lion, and he got us the win. We’ve found a left-back there. The boy’s going to be a top player.”

“We need to learn when to get the second goal and when to get the third,” he told a news conference. “Today we had loads of opportunities to make sure we were in a comfortable lead, but we didn’t play the pass forward.”
