The striker is available to sign for clubs on a free transfer after the expiry of his Tottenham contract.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that the Red Devils will not be signing former Spurs striker Fernando Llorente this summer.

The Spanish striker saw his contract with Tottenham Hotspur run out in the summer after spending two seasons in North London following his arrival from Swansea City.

The 34-year-old Llorente is currently a free agent which means the rules allow him to sign for any Premier League club despite the transfer window in England already having shut.

There was confusion over the player’s future at Tottenham, with the club not officially announcing his departure, leading to suggestions that the striker could extend his stay in North London beyond his current deal.

Manchester United will be looking to strengthen their striking options in the near future, having sold Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan and the imminent departure of Alexis Sanchez who looks to be heading out of the door at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Gazzetta dello Sport reported a couple of days ago that the striker has been offered a two year deal by the Red Devils, but they have been disputed by the United boss who has said that there won’t be any new arrivals this summer.

‘We are not looking at any more signings,’ said Solskjaer, responding directly to the Llorente speculation ahead of Saturday’s match against Crystal Palace.
