Tom Heaton Not Surprised By Manchester United's Success Under Ole Solskjaer

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s former Manchester United teammate and current Burnley goalkeeper, Tom Heaton has praised the Old Trafford’s manager’s ‘strength of character’.

The latter played alongside Solskjaer in the United ranks and even under him when the Norwegian was in charge of the Red Devils reserve side for two-and-a-half-years.

Not only has Solskjaer brought immediate success to the Manchester side, he has also proven himself to be a strong candidate for the permanent managerial spot with his spot on tactical skills.

United are currently on an 8-game winning streak, having beaten out Arsenal at their own home ground by 3 goals to 1.

Burnley are due to face off against the Red Devils on Tuesday evening and Heaton told Sky Sports, “I know him very well. He was an incredible player, an incredible finisher, was difficult to face in training and a very good man. He’s certainly got that strength of character to manage a club like Manchester United.”

“I’ve been really impressed but not surprised with the upturn in form that they’ve had. You could see the quality when I was there towards the end of my time at the club. You could see the ideas, the understanding, players wanting to play for him so I’m not surprised at all that he’s had a big effect.”

United are currently level with Arsenal in the 6th spot of the Premier League while Burnley are fighting to stay away from the relegation spots.
