Man United coach Carrick confirms Cavani's return

Cavani’s last appearance was as a substitute against Atalanta last month.

Manchester United’s caretaker manager Michael Carrick has opened up on the return of his striker Edinson Cavani. Cavani was recovering from the injury.

He has been absent in the Premier League since the 3-0 win over Tottenham. His last appearance was as a substitute against Atalanta in a 2-2 draw in Italy.

Carrick is in charge until Ralf Rangnick receives a work visa in the UK. He spoke ahead of Man United’s Premier League game against Arsenal, “Edi’s back on the grass.”

“He’s working outside with the strength and conditioning guys so he’s back on the grass.”

United are expected to still be without Raphael Varane, who has been sidelined for four weeks with a hamstring strain. Paul Pogba could be out for the entirety of December because of a thigh injury.
