Erik ten Hag facing questions over his Man United future

Erik ten Hag has been subjected to frequent chants of sacking lately.

The Dutch manager understands his club is currently in a bad place after the Red Devils succumbed to their eighth defeat in 15 matches.

United had their worst start to a season since 1962-63 and have lost two back-to-back games with a 3-0 margin.

The series of disappointing defeats were accompanied by boos at half-time last night with frustrating home fans rushing to the exit gates before the full time whistle.

But the manager insists he will fight for his future after the Carabao Cup exit piled more pressure on Erik ten Hag.

“I am a fighter and I know it is not always going up,” he said.

“We have a lot of setbacks this season so far, but also you have to deal with it and that is never an excuse.

“I have said that before I know when there are setbacks the routines are not the same, but even then you have to get results in.

“Obviously, Sunday and tonight were far from that so we have to do things right and at a certain level, at the minimum level to win games.”
