Erik ten Hag, Manchester United head coach, recently announced that the team’s top midfielder, Casemiro, will miss the club’s upcoming Premier League match against Fulham. This setback comes after an unlucky injury suffered during Wednesday’s League Cup match against Newcastle United, which ended in a 3-0 defeat for the Red Devils.

Casemiro, an important figure in Manchester United’s midfield, had previously been sidelined with an ankle injury suffered while on international duty with the Brazilian national team in a World Cup qualifier against Venezuela. Although he was cleared to play against Uruguay just five days later, the team chose to be cautious and kept him out of the trip to Sheffield United to help with his recovery.

With his current injury, there are questions about his availability for Brazil’s crucial World Cup qualifiers against Colombia and Argentina in mid-November. Ten Hag expressed question over Casemiro’s recuperation schedule, leaving fans and management hoping for a quick comeback.

Manchester United are now ninth in the Premier League standings, having recently suffered a defeat in the Manchester derby against City rivals. Meanwhile, Brazil sits third in the World Cup qualifiers, having previously drawn with Venezuela and lost to Uruguay in October.
