Fenerbahce interested in Man United outcast Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial is deemed surplus to Erik ten Hag’s requirements.

The French forward is expected to make a move this January following a disappointing spell at Old Trafford over the past few seasons.

His current deal with Man United expires next summer and the club has no intention to trigger the one-year extension.

Since the arrival of Ramsus Hojlund this summer, Martial has gone way behind the pecking order and is unhappy with his current situation.

Martial will be allowed to sign a pre-contract agreement with interested clubs and Fenerbahce has emerged as the favourites for his signature.

A pre-contract could potentially be agreed in January if the salary demands are made by the Frenchman.

Even though Martial has been a regular this season, he has scored only twice in 19 appearances across all competitions.

The 28-year-old has failed to hit the heights expected from him since his arrival in 2015 as inconsistent form, injuries and a lack of confidence have plagued his career.

The Red Devils are interested in offloading the Frenchman in January and signing a new forward in January potentially on loan.

It remains to be seen how the January market fares for Erik ten Hag and his team.
