According to reports Manchester United are eyeing a move for Sevilla shot-stopper Yassine Bounou

Manchester United Could Sign Sevilla Shot-stopper Yassine Bounou in the upcoming transfer window as Ralf Rangnick looks set to add to his goalkeeping options.

The Red Devils are apparently interested in the Moroccan international’s current predicament, as his contract at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan expires in 2024. Sevilla are attempting to bind the goalkeeper to a new deal, which could increase his release clause from £25 million to as much as £63 million.

Yassine Bounou departed Atletico Madrid for Zaragoza (on loan) in 2016 without appearing in a single top-flight match. His following transfers were to Girona and Sevilla, with the latter signing him for a sum in the area of €4.5 million in September 2020.

West Ham United’s Andriy Yarmolenko scores the team’s second goal past Sevilla FC’s Yassine Bounou during the UEFA Europa League Round of 16 Leg Two match between West Ham United and Sevilla FC.

This season, the 30-year-old has made 23 La Liga games and played a total of 2070 minutes. He is now recognised as one of the greatest goalkeepers in Spain’s top league, with an average of 0.52 goals surrendered per 90 minutes. Bounou’s clean sheet-to-matches-played ratio is now at 52 percent, implying that he has not surrendered a single goal in 12 of the 23 games.

It goes without saying that the Montreal-born shot-stopper has played a critical part in Sevilla’s continued dominance in La Liga.

Given the circumstances, adding 30-year-old Yassine Bounou to provide further competition for de Gea may be the best option. He fits the description, and if a suitable transfer price is available, the board should go all in to obtain his signing.
