Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Hails Strong Manchester United Display Against Liverpool

Molde will receive a payoff of £1m from Manchester United as a goodwill gesture following the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the full time manager.

The Norwegian was expected to be given the charge and United named him the successor to Jose Mourinho on Thursday. The manager had looked certain to return to his old club as he took the charge on a temporary basis.

The club hierarchy was supposed to finalise a name in the due time but Solskjaer kept on delivering results after results. Following an underwhelming start to the season United never had seemed to be in the race of the top four.

But the former United forward has ensured the club remains in the fight. Also United came back brilliantly to shot down Paris Saint Germain 3-1 in the Champions League round of 16 and booked a quarter final date with Barcelona.

Molde received a hefty payment upon the arrival of their former manager at the Old Trafford and are entitled to receive another £1m from the Red Devils. Solskjaer has put pen to paper on a three year contract and the former Norway international will receive £21m should he remain in charge .
