Fernandes has the tendency to see problems everywhere when he loses.

The influential Portuguese playmaker has racked up 30 goals and 20 assists in 55 odd appearances for the Red Devils.

In a recent interview, he revealed that he has an undying passion for winning matches and quickly looks to improve when he loses.

“I don’t react well when we lose, I don’t like losing. I know people say sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, but that’s not how I think,” the 26-year-old said told TV2.

“For me, it’s about winning every single time. I don’t care who we play against, it’s just about winning every time.

“I know that people think differently, and for some people it goes well even if you lose, but when I lose, I see problems everywhere, I see problems with myself, I see what I’ve done wrong and I’m unhappy.

“That’s how I’ve been since I was little. When I lost, I went home and closed myself inside a room. When my mother shouted that dinner was ready, I had locked the door so that no one could enter.

“But she knew it would go over and that I would come out when I was hungry.”

Manchester United are not Premier League contenders says United boss.

The Red Devils blew a lead to draw 3-3 against Everton and dropped two points at home on Saturday.

A win would have closed the gap between their noisy neighbours Manchester City.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was disappointed with how his team defended in that crucial tie against the Merseyside club.

“We played some good football in the second half but conceded three goals from three shots on target,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports.

“When you do that it is disappointing.

“I wouldn’t blame anyone on the goals but we know we could have done better as a team on all of them.

“Results create the mood, the last kick of the ball makes us go home really disappointed. We have lost two points on a long thump upfield which we should have defended.”

“We are not talking about winning titles,” Solskjaer said. “We have come a long way, this team.

“We should not even be considered as title chasers. That is more talk that you (the media) are saying.

“We need to be better as a team and see where we end up. Going forward, we need to stop conceding easy goals.”

Marcus Rashford has impressed in every role he has been tasked with.

The 23-year forward is delighted with the versatility he has been tasked with and has not missed a single Premier League this campaign.

The United academy graduate spent most of last season playing on the left flank and scored a career-best of 22 goals in all competitions.

Solskajer has dabbled with Rashford’s role this term by moving him to the right-wing or fielding him as a centre-forward.

“Throughout my academy days, I always tried to train myself to play in all three of those positions up front, just to give myself a better chance of getting into the first team,” Rashford told Goal.

“If you have a player who can play in more than one position, then you’re more likely to be involved. It’s something I always dreamed of doing and now the manager is giving me an opportunity to do that.

“I still think I can improve and do better but I’m pleased that I’ve managed to influence games in different positions and help the team win games.”

Carlo Ancelotti has talked about the Everton squad and how they are preparing to face Manchester United.

We have Pickford out for this game; he has not recovered yet,” Ancelotti told reporters, as per Liverpool Echo.

“We have Allan out; he has started training with the team today.

“We have Gbamin out; [he is] following his individual programme. It’s too early to say when he will be back.”

“He [Olsen] had a great game [against Leeds]. He played really well and he’s going to play tomorrow because Pickford is out.

“When Pickford will be back, he is going to play like he played usually, but I think Olsen can also play some games.”

“We played two games against them this season; we lost both at home. We have to change something for sure, because if we follow the same way we played, I think we are going to lose. We will try to plan a different strategy, and we’ll see how it works.

“This [9-0 win] is bad news! They scored nine goals, but at the same time, the [home] game before, they lost against Sheffield United. I have to choose what to say to the players, but the players know it will be a really difficulty game.

“United is a fantastic team; a team with a good mix between experience and talented young players. But I hope it will also be difficult for them to play against us.

“The mental aspect is really important. We have to try do something different, to create more problems than in the past games we played against them.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer urged to bring in a new right-back

Man United should sign a new right-back to push Wan-Bissaka to improve his game.

The 23-year old right-back put up a brilliant performance in United’s 9-0 win against the Saints and scored the opening goal of the night.

Former United full-back Fabio da Silva believes signing a new right-back will drive further development from Wan-Bissaka.

Fabio told the Manchester Evening News: “If you see how Luke Shaw is doing this season, I think it’s the best season he’s been having for so long at Man United. Telles has made him improve, someone to say ‘if you’re not playing well, if you’re not concentrating, working hard, you’re going to lose your place’.

“This definitely makes you play better, so for Wan-Bissaka if they bring in a good right-back, you’re going to help him to improve.

“One hundred per cent, this is what makes players compete for their place, and to improve. If you play every game, you have no competition and you can start to get in a comfort zone, it’s not good for you.”

Fabio added: “I think he’s already improved, to be honest.

“I watch a lot of Man United, I follow them, and before he arrived I thought as an offensive full-back for United, he’s not going to do it.

“Everyone knew he was a great defender, his positioning is good, but at the beginning I thought: ‘I don’t know’.

“But now, really, he has improved a lot. He can still improve more, he is young, but now he’s a much better offensive player than when he arrived. So if he keeps improving, he will be a fantastic player, I really like him.”

Jesse Lingard Tipped To Win His England Place Back With Present Form

Jesse Lingard Tipped To Win His England Place Back With Present Form

Jesse Lingard has received a huge morale boost from his new manager.

After switching teams in January, Lingard scored a brace on his debut for West Ham United against Aston Villa.

He was impressive and impactful just David Moyes had hoped when acquired him on a six-month loan deal. Lingard showed his attacking pedigree despite going two seasons without playing much.

“Jesse is still getting used to us and us to him. We are thrilled because he made a difference. If he keeps on like that it won’t be long until he is back in the England squad,” a delighted Moyes told BT Sport.

“He made the team better tonight. I felt we were short in areas where we make chances, it is proved tonight that we needed him.”

Lingard fell through pecking order at Manchester United after the introduction of fresher talent. First Dan James took his spot on the wings and then, Bruno Fernandes made him non-essential in midfield.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer put plenty of faith on Lingard early on in his managerial career but did not see much returns. The England international lost his place in the national side and faced issues off the field which led to a lack of motivation. Now, it is good to see him flourishing again in a new environment.

Man United should sign Grealish if Pogba decides to leave

Luke Chadwick wants Man United to sign Grealish if Pogba decides to leave in the summer.

Jack Grealish has been heavily linked with the Red Devils since the 2019/20 season and has continued to take his game to higher levels this season.

Ex-United midfielder Luke Chadwick believes that if Pogba decides to leave in the summer, United should break the bank to sign Grealish who can take Solskjaer’s side to greater levels.

“I think it would be disappointing if Pogba left because he’s just coming into form and playing some of the best football he’s played,” the ex-United midfielder told Caught Offside.

“It could be that that’s because he’s looking for a move at the end of the season. But there’s no one like Pogba in world football in terms of what he offers with his style of play. When he’s good he’s very good, when he’s bad he doesn’t offer much to the team.

“It’ll be interesting to see if Pogba goes, what they do with the finances, if it will be to put that money into another central midfielder or to strengthen other areas, like with [Jadon] Sancho.

“For me, the one player I’d look to break the bank for is Jack Grealish, who has looked one of the best players in the Premier League for Aston Villa. If he was surrounded by the kind of calibre of player he would be at United I think he could be an absolute world-class player in a few years’ time.

“He looks to be positive every time he gets the ball. He can make things happen from deeper areas, he can travel with the ball.

“He always had great promise coming through at Villa and now you can see he is someone who deserves to play at the top, top level on a massive stage.

“Of course I have an interest in the young players at Manchester United.

“He has got great attributes which I feel can help us – he is quick and strong, he can play in a two at the back and in a three at the back.

“It is a great experience for him, and he is ready to come into the squad and be available to play once obviously the paperwork is done.”

Facundo Pellistri has joined Spanish club Alaves for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year old winger signed for the Red Devils in the summer window of 2020 for a reported fee of £9m and is yet to make his first senior appearance for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

He played for the U-23s and has scored three goals in eight appearances.

A move to the Spanish club Alaves will guarantee him some more playing time and the next few steps in his development.

“Our scouts have followed Facundo for a long time and we believe that he will be a real talent for the long term,” Solskjaer told Man Utd’s official website after Pellistri’s move to La Liga was confirmed.

“Whilst we understand it will take time for him to adapt to the English game, he is capable of having an impact with his pace and ability to beat his opponent.

“We wish Facundo all the best for his spell with Alaves in Spain, and look forward to following his progress.”

Scholes – Bruno Fernandes Not Showing Up In Big Games

Scholes - Bruno Fernandes Not Showing Up In Big Games

Bruno Fernandes has not impressed Paul Scholes yet.

Manchester United drew 0-0 against Arsenal on Saturday with Fernandes going through one of his less influential moments.

However, the Portuguese international has been on fire since coming into the Red Devils squad. He has the most goal contributions amongst any other Premier League player since his arrival. He also scored a lethal free-kick which ended up helping United win 3-2 over Liverpool and progress to the FA Cup fifth round.

Scholes demands more from Fernandes as he told Premier League Productions, “They (United) can’t seem to win those games. When you’re struggling against Sheffield United the other night, you’re beaten by them and then you come to a big game, they just can’t win them.

“They just can’t find a way of doing it. Bruno Fernandes has been disappointing in every single one of them. He’s had great numbers, great assists, great goals. In the last five games against big teams, he’s had no goals, no assists.

“It’s really worrying and that’s why United are where they’re at. They’re in a good position tonight but it’s not a position where you think this team will go on to win the league.”
