Marcus Rashford endured a frustrating campaign in the past two seasons.

The 24-year-old attacker had a bright start to the Premier League campaign scoring three goals and making two assists.

He is a popular figure at Old Trafford and fans are delighted to watch him back on form.

This summer there were rumours of him joining PSG but the arrival of Erik Ten Hag has played a huge role in Rashford staying with his boyhood club.

Ten Hag said: “Once again it is difficult for me to talk about the past.

“But what I see: I see a happy Marcus Rashford and I see some phases in his game that we could improve.

“And we worked really hard in the last two-and-a-half months with him on different aspects.

“He likes it, and he wants to transfer it to the pitch, and that is what you see in this moment.”

He added: “It started with happiness. He is coming here every day, he really enjoys it, he’s really smiling.

“He has a really positive vibe and if you put all of those things together with the way of play and you want to improve different aspects of your game and you are happy, you will contribute more to the team, to the performance, to the result, and also to your development.”

Eric Bailly blasts Man United for favouring English players

Eric Bailly accused Man United of preferring home-grown players.

The 28-year-old defender joins Marseille on loan this summer after getting frustrated at the lack of opportunities by former managers.

He just started only three Premier League games last season even though signing a new contract back in April 2021.

He joined Marseille on loan and the deal could be permanent for £5.9million if Bailly plays a certain number of games.

The Ivorian Coast defender voiced his displeasure at the selection policy at Old Trafford.

“The club should avoid favouring English players and give everyone a chance. [The club should] encourage competition in the dressing room, not just look out for some. I’ve always had the feeling that the national player was prioritised,” Bailly told The Times.

“That doesn’t happen at Chelsea or other big Premier League clubs. Some people take it for granted that they are going to start, and that weakens the team. Luckily [Erik] Ten Hag has a lot of character and I hope he can change that dynamic.”

Ten Hag Gets A United Tune From The Players In Tough Arsenal Win

Ten Hag Gets A United Tune From The Players In Tough Arsenal Win

After an expected tricky start to life for Dutch and former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, the 52-year-old is starting to quickly turn things around at Old Trafford.

Having replaced interim manager Ralf Rangnick over the summer, whilst he has not always got his own way in the 2022 summer transfer market, he has been backed and seen the arrivals of free agent Christian Eriksen from Brentford, Tyrell Malacia came in from Feyenoord for a reported £13 million. £48.5 million was spent on Ajax’s Lisandro Martinez, with Ajax benefiting from a further £82 million as a deal for Antony was finally struck on deadline day. There was also the whopping £65 million capture of Casemiro from La Liga giants Real Madrid and even a clever loan deal for Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka and that helped keep the Manchester United Tickets flying out the door.

The early arrivals took a bit of time to settle in, as you would expect – a new league, new challenges, new team mates and, of course, a new country to contend with. So unsurprisingly the new Manchester United Squad lost their opening two matches of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign, suffering a 2-1 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion, followed by a disastrous 4-0 defeat to Brentford. Ten Hag kept working away and the next game saw a morale boosting 2-1 victory over Liverpool, then a 1-0 win over Southampton, and a 1-0 triumph over Leicester City.

Sunday’s clash with Arsenal would be an entirely different test for the new boss, as Mikel Arteta had got them performing incredibly well after his own initial struggles at The Emirates Stadium – so much so that ahead of the game they were in top spot and a couple of points clear at this early stage of the season.

Arsenal undoubtedly edged the match at Old Trafford with possession and their overall chances, but again under Ten Hag United are becoming a team that seeks out their moment to cause maximum damage and we did it again with Antony helping himself to a debut goal in the 35th minute, and although Arteta’s side restored parity on the hour mark, Marcus Rashford restored our lead six minutes later, and grabbed himself a brace 15 minutes from the full time whistle to secure another three points and four wins on the spin with a 3-1 victory – and despite summer confusion, Ronaldo continues to play his part as well.

With how Ten Hag’s fortunes have turned – and probably quicker than most thought he would managed given the issues he faced at the club, he was understandably delighted with the win and with very respectful praise for the opposition, he was rightly still demanding more from his players.

“We are happy and satisfied with the win, also the performance against a really good team – they played really well. The spirit from this team, they can deal with setbacks so we did, it is really great and shows your mentality – we have really improved on that. We have the right characters and now it is about cooperation, deal with set backs but also improve – we have to stay calm, stay composed and play our game. You can see that Arsenal are more together, more routines – but our team spirit brings us the win. We can still do things better, with pressing, we had a good plan but the incoming from Zinchenko for instance, that gives them over numbering in midfield. We can be more composed on the ball, don’t give it away. When we got beat in the press we fought back and recovered, especially in transitions we were good.”

Despite the distractions the November break will bring for the 2022 World Cup, this could turn out to be a better than expected season for United given this start.

Erik ten Hag warned about his new playing style

Man United had an impressive start under Erik ten Hag.

The Dutch manager made a disappointing start losing United’s two opening fixtures.

Since then, Man United have won four on the bounce and rose to the fifth position in the Premier League table.

Graeme Souness has been impressed with United’s performances but believes fans will warrant a style of play that is more exciting.

‘They’re dogged, determined, they’re showing real spirit, togetherness,’ the former Liverpool captain and manager told Talksport. ‘I think they’re playing in a pragmatic way now, they’re not playing in the Manchester United way.’

‘As long as I’ve been in football Man United play a certain way, which is on the front foot, exciting. They are impressive because they’ve shown a togetherness to win games, But going forward is that how he wants to play? Is that how Man United supporters want their team to play? No.’

‘But there’s been a bit of a reset to think, “we have to be a little bit more cautious, a little bit more pragmatic,” and it’s working for them at the moment.’

Christian Eriksen was easily the best player against Arsenal last night.

The Dane signed a three-year contract with the Red Devils and made some significant performances this campaign.

He has been performing brilliantly in his customary midfielder role and is probably the most important player in the midfield room.

The 30-year-old midfielder gave a Man of the Match performance against Arsenal last evening.

Ferdinand told Vibe: ‘Can I give a special, special shout out to my man of the match Christian Eriksen?

‘I have to hold my hand up I was one of those who was skeptical about the signing. It’s another signing I’m sure from Erik ten Hag it was his decision to take him.

‘At the moment you cannot argue with that decision. In the game today his passing, the first one when he wrapped it with the eyes took out about five players in the Arsenal team.

‘The other one where he plays it to Bruno and he puts it in for Rashford and obviously the assist. His forward passing is up there with the best in the league at the moment.

‘I was a bit skeptical asking what’s he going to bring, it he going to start? Well yes he’s starting and yes he’s producing so Eriksen I salute you.’

Erik ten Hag to play role of teacher and friend to Cristiano Ronaldo

Ronaldo came off the bench for the third consecutive game as United won 1-0 at Leicester.

Erik ten Hag is ready to act as both friend and teacher to Cristiano Ronaldo after the Manchester United star’s future was finally put on hold as the summer transfer window ends.

The 37-year-old had been keen to call time on his second spell at Old Trafford less than a year after returning from Juventus following a disappointing season for a club he has won medals aplenty with.

Ten Hag and the club repeatedly said throughout the summer that Ronaldo would be staying put and, despite speculation continuing right up until Thursday’s transfer deadline, so it proved.

Ronaldo was at the King Power Stadium on Thursday rather than completing a move to a Champions League side. He came off the bench for the third consecutive game as United won 1-0 at Leicester.

“(He stayed), as we said,” Ten Hag said. “It’s really early in the season and we have a squad and we have more than starting 11 players and that is what you see now.

“Players who are now on the bench can play in one, two or three weeks.”

Ronaldo missed the pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia due to a family issue, with his only minutes being the first half of the friendly against Rayo Vallecano.

“I will be his friend, sometimes I will be his teacher,” he said. “It depends on the situation.

“But, as we all know, he didn’t have the pre-season and you cannot miss the pre-season.

“It is a base, especially in the game we play, the way of play. We play another type in comparison with last year.

“It depends on the demands, cooperation and it demands certain positioning, in and out of position, and the other thing is fitness.”

Ronaldo’s long-time Real Madrid team-mate Casemiro could make his first United start on Sunday, when Antony will hope to make his bow after completing his big-money deadline-day move from Ajax.

Sancho pumped up with Man United form in Premier League

Sancho looked improved player this season, scoring twice in last three wins.

Manchester United midfielder Jadon Sancho is happy with his current form. The 22-year-old winger suffered in his first season at Old Trafford and fell out of the England squad along the way.

Sancho looked solid this season and scored two goals in three consecutive wins. Former Bundesliga winger said: “I would say I have still got more to come but I feel good, like I’m in a good moment on and off the pitch.

“We felt we just had to wake up after the Brentford game and we have three wins in a row now so we have to keep it up and get more wins.”

It is the first time the Red Devils have won three consecutive league games since April 2021.

And Sancho also added: “That is a long time and every game is tough, we just have to be ready and keep up the momentum.

“We’re gelling well together. We are playing more in the style of the manager and everyone is loving it at the moment.

“We are working on style of play in training, some is just the intelligence of our players, getting to know each other well.

“I would say we have more information and more clear a plan of what to do, especially in some areas of the pitch.

“We just stuck to the game plan, as the manager wanted, every training session we are working hard to get better and better.”

James Garner has also become United’s biggest sale in the summer.

Everton have completed the signing of James Garner from Manchester United for a fee rising to £15 million.

It was Frank Lampard’s second signing in midfield as they also recalled Idrissa Gueye from Paris Saint-Germain, and has signed a four-year deal at Goodison Park.

Garner helped Nottingham Forest win promotion during a loan spell last season. The 21-year-old has cost an initial £9 million and believes Lampard can improve his game.

He has also become United’s biggest sale in the summer when they have spent over £200 million on signings such as Antony, Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia.

Garner said: “I’m made up to sign for Everton. It’s a huge step in my career and I want to help the team get better while progressing as a player. I think Everton is the perfect place to do that. I can’t wait to get started.”

Garner also had a loan spell at Watford and only made seven appearances for United. He was allowed to leave Old Trafford after Erik ten Hag brought in midfielders Christian Eriksen and Casemiro.

He also added: “The manager has got a real plan for the club and for me. Working with him on a daily basis is major for me. Him and his staff can take me and the team to the next level.”

Lampard has now made eight signings this summer and said: “James is a fantastic midfielder with a great all-round game who has qualities we know Evertonians will appreciate. We are really looking forward to working with him and having him add further strength to our squad.”
