Marcus Rashford is out with a muscle injury.

The academy player picked up an injury in United’s 3-1 win over Arsenal a week ago in which Rashford scored a brace to seal the win.

He then went on to miss the Europa League clash against Real Sociedad and Ten Hag claims he won’t be absent for long.

“He’s not available, a consequence after Arsenal. He has a muscle injury,” said the United boss.

“I don’t think too long, but I don’t know. It’s not really bad, we expect him quite soon to be back in the team.”

Rashford expects an England recall after being absent from Three Lions squad since the European Championship final last year.

He seems to have been revitalised under Ten Hag and the manager believes that Rashford would participate in the World Cup.

“That’s quite obvious and quite clear, yes [he should go to the World Cup]. He played really good seasons and I think in this season he had a great comeback and showed his great potential and quality,” he said.

Casemiro has talked up the quality of his fellow Selecao star.

Casemiro admits Antony will prove an important signing for Manchester United.

The Brazilian pair knew each other before they both made summer moves to Old Trafford.

Antony moved to the Red Devils from Ajax in an £86m deal, while Casemiro left Real Madrid for £60m.

And Casemiro has talked up the quality of his fellow Selecao star.

“I think it’s really important to have such a quality player here [as Antony ] with us,” he told MUTV. “I knew him from the national team already.

“He’d played with us in Brazil, it’s always important to have players of Antony’s level. Not just him, we have a lot of top-quality players.”

Michael Owen aims a transfer dig at Man United

Michael Owen aims a transfer dig at Man United

Michael Owen has criticised Man United’s transfer business.

Former Reds striker Michael Owen claims United have signed players who looks like they’ve never played before.

He blames United’s transfer activity over the past decade comparing to Liverpool when it comes to bringing in new players.

Owen said: “It’s very rare that five players play well and five players stink the place out, you normally play well as a team and poorly as a team — it effects everybody.”

“When there’s no pressing from the front, all of a sudden the defence looks vulnerable then they make mistakes, it’s a chain reaction.

“Liverpool over the years, no matter who they’ve signed, have been world beaters, then teams like Manchester United over the last 10 years no matter who they’ve signed look like they’ve never played football before it’s changed now.

“But what I’m trying to say is it’s very easy to bring a player into the team or for all the players to play well at the same time it is a team game. We’ve seen that with Liverpool, they either play well or flounder like they did the other night.”

Erik ten Hag pushing for the signing of Santiago Arias

Erik ten Hag pushing for the signing of Santiago Arias

Erik ten Hag is ready to step up his efforts to bring Santiago Arias to Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag is spearheading the process of bringing in Santiago Arias to Manchester United.

As per the reports of Colombian source El Deportivo, Arias is poised to join United as a free agent, with Ten Hag looking for sufficient competition for Diogo Dalot.

Team Talk reports, “Manchester United are ready to offer a deal to free agent Santiago Arias.”

“Erik ten Hag is ready to step up his efforts to bring Santiago Arias to Manchester United with the offer of a short-term contract.”

“United are seemingly ready to make a firm offer with a short-term deal to the end of the season being prepped.”

“Arias himself is ready to grab the chance with both hands.”

Should the reports be believed and the 30-year-old joins the Red Devils, he would arrive as a free agent after Spanish giants Atletico Madrid terminated the player’s contract.

In 2020, Arias was loaned to Germany with Bayern Leverkusen before ending up in Spain with Granada in 2021.

It is worth mentioning that no reputable United-associated journalists or sources have come out and indicated that the Red Devils are in for Arias. Nevertheless, it is one to keep an eye on.

Tahith Chong joined Birmingham City on a permanent deal this summer.

The 22-year-old spent the last season with the Championship squad on loan and he was eventually signed on a permanent deal worth £1.5m.

But the young midfielder believes there are already positive signs of Ten hag’s impact on the squad.

‘I think it’s very good, from the last couple of games you see he is trying to bring a structure in – a Dutch kind of structure which is not bad,’ Chong told BirminghamLive. ‘Hopefully they can continue on that path and keep improving.

‘I think he will do well there but it will take time to really implement his structure and what he wants to bring – but I think in time he will. United in the past are used to playing good football, it’s not like they were just kicking it long and hoping for the best.

‘I think they are quite used to seeing good football anyway. I think that’s where he will prove, he will want to win games as well.’

United will be in the ‘race’ for Jude Bellingham when he becomes available

United will be in the ‘race’ for Jude Bellingham when he becomes available

Bellingham could be an exciting addition for Erik ten Hag.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, Manchester United will be in the ‘race’ for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham when he becomes available,

The 19-year-old has been linked with various European clubs and could depart the Signal Iduna Park next summer.

A recent report from The Athletic has added that Liverpool are also keen to sign Bellingham up in 12 months’ time, although they are far from his only potential suitors.

It’s added that Real Madrid, Chelsea and Man United are also closely monitoring the England international’s situation, and Dortmund will surely be hoping a bidding war ensues between them. Bellingham has three years remaining on his current contract.

And O’Rourke has told GiveMeSport that he believes the Red Devils will be in the running for the 19-year-old midfielder.

He said: “I think if Jude Bellingham does become available in the next transfer window, whether it’s next summer or January, I’m sure Manchester United, like all top European clubs, will be in that race for Bellingham.”

ESPN editor David Cartlidge previously described Bellingham as a “machine”, and it’s hard to argue with that assessment when looking at his statistics.

It’s evident that Bellingham could be an exciting addition for Erik ten Hag if they can fend off the extensive competition for his signature.

Anthony Martial hits out at Mourinho and Solskjaer

Anthony Martial slams former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Jose Mourinho.

Former manager Jose Mourinho has accused Martial of lacking maturity and also criticised him for wanting to play as a striker for all the wrong reasons.

The French international has now opened up about his relationship with the Portuguese boss.

Martial told France Football: ‘During the holidays, he [Mourinho] sent me a message to ask if I want to change to the No 11, explaining to me that it is great because it was worn by Ryan Giggs, a club legend.

‘I tell him that I have the greatest respect for Giggs but I prefer to keep the No 9. When I returned to the club, I see my name with the No 11, the story did not end well. He [Mourinho] lacked direct respect for me.’

He then also accused former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for not backing him.

He added: ‘‘People don’t know it, I couldn’t accelerate during the four months following the Covid season. The coach tells me he needs me, so I play. But, given my game, if I can’t accelerate, it becomes very complicated all the same. And I got set on fire [criticised by fans]… the coach never bothered to tell the media.

‘I took it very badly, I had a feeling of injustice, you are asked to sacrifice yourself for the team and behind the scenes you are dismissed. For me, it’s almost treachery. That’s all I hate. I can be blamed, but not for being fake.’

Eric Bailly explains why he left Old Trafford

Eric Bailly was struggling for game time at Manchester United.

The Ivory Coast defender was further pushed down the pecking order at Man United with the arrival of Lisandro Martinez this summer.

He struggled for game time at Old Trafford last season and decided to make a loan move in the 2022/23 season to Marseille.

He managed to keep six clean sheets so far in Ligue 1 and Marseille are unbeaten in their first six league matches.

Eric Bailly explains how Marseille president Pablo Longoria convinced him to secure a move to the Ligue 1 club.

“I only knew him as the president of Marseille, not as a person,” Bailly told La Provence.

“When he called, he told me about my time at Villarreal, about all the things I did there. He told me secrets that I didn’t expect. I said to myself: ‘I don’t know him, but how does he know all this?’

“Then he explained that he was close friends with my former coach Marcelino (Toral, ex-Villarreal boss). The conversation was smooth and easy. It made me want to come even more.”

Diogo Dalot refused a permanent move to AC Milan to stay at Old Trafford

Diogo Dalot is currently Man United’s first-choice right-back.

The Portuguese defender spent the entire 2020/21 season on loan at AC Milan making 33 appearances in all competitions.

He refused to sign a permanent deal with the Rossoneri in the summer but was promoted to first-choice under Ralf Rangnick when the German took interim charge last November.

He managed to keep the spot under Erik Ten Hag as well and was even letting Bissaka leave in the summer window.

Dalot has rejected a deal with AC Milan to fight for his place at Old Trafford.

‘Milan are a great club and I loved the season with the Rossoneri,’ said Dalot.

‘But it (transfer) wasn’t just up to me. In the end I decided to stay at United and it was the right decision.

‘If I’m a better defender I owe it to Milan. Italian football is different from the Premier League and I had to adapt in just one year and playing in Serie A has helped me a lot.

‘Over the past two years here in Manchester, the minutes have increased and, consequently, so has self-esteem.’

Alex Telles reveals why he left Manchester United for Sevilla on loan

Alex Telles reveals why he left Manchester United for Sevilla on loan

Alex Telles has appeared in four matches for Los Nervionenses so far

Manchester United loanee Alex Telles admits he left United for a loan spell at Sevilla to increase his chances of playing in the World Cup.

Speaking after Sevilla’s 4-0 Champions League defeat to Manchester City, in which he played on the left as a winger, Telles said he knew that staying at United would hinder his chances of becoming Brazil’s starting left-back in Qatar.

He spoke to TNT Sports via Manchester Evening News when asked whether his Old Trafford departure hinged on the World Cup, “Obviously. If I say no, I’ll be lying.”

“I really believe in preparation. I know I’m on the radar; I know I was called for the last call-ups. So obviously having more and more minutes, playing as much as possible.”

“So I’m exclusively focused on that preparation. I know it depends a lot on what I do at my club to be willing and always at a high level, so if I get called up for the national team, I must be prepared.”

He also said that Erik ten Hag’s arrival at the club did little to change his mind as he did not think his fortunes would change. It is hard to argue against this.

The 29-year-old said, “Very high level, as is the Premier League. Here in La Liga is also a very high level; it’s a club that is in the Champions League.”

“So obviously, it was a way of thinking also strategically about football, in a characteristic of mine.”

“As I told you, it’s preparation. Having minutes, having games, and I think that here I have a lot to grow and evolve.”

“And so be prepared that if I get called up to the national team, give my best.”

Telles has appeared in four matches for Los Nervionenses so far – three times in La Liga and once in the Champions League. He provided one assist in four games.
