Mark Goldbrige advices Man United to sell Scott McTominay

Scott McTominay will listen to suitable offers this summer.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been a first-team player since breaking through under Jose Mourinho back in 2017.

He came through the academy as a striker but developed into a box-to-box midfielder.

But he has fallen down the pecking order behind Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes.

McTominay is valued at around £30m and is adored in Scotland due to his ‘dominant presence’.

He has two years remaining in his contract and with Mason Mount’s arrival, the Scotsman would struggle to find regular minutes at Old Trafford.

Goldbridge believes United should get rid of the midfielder this summer.

He said: “If West Ham are interested, and they want him for £40 million, or £30 million, find a middle ground.

“Don’t say, ‘We’re going to reject £35 million’, because you want £40 million. McTominay hasn’t had a good game in nearly a year. He’s not an established first team player. He’s worth about £30 million.

“If we don’t take the money for him now, you will never get that money again. That’s why United need to be negotiating a deal.”
