Marouane Fellaini's Manchester United Career Put Into Question After Mourinho Sacking

Marouane Fellaini incidentally is in the rare group of Manchester United players who did not take too kindly to Jose Mourinho’s sacking.

The Belgian midfielder held a key role at the club under the former boss but has been reduced to simply a rotational option after his departure. He has made just 2 appearances for the Red Devils under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and that too as substitutes.

Mourinho utilised the 31-year-old as a super sub in pressing situations and was often rewarded with a crucial goal or two. After the arrival of Fred in the summer transfer window, Fellaini’s involvement for United was expected to reduce but the Portuguese head coach kept his faith in the former Everton player.

Now reports claim that Fellaini is being chased by AC Milan and FC Porto. Solskjaer’s offensive style of play with is dictated by pace and quick passes might not have a regular spot for the Belgian international.

More so, he was expected to leave the club prior to the 2018/19 season but he extended his contract simply because of Mourinho. Now with the Portuguese gone, Fellaini might seriously consider taking his talents elsewhere.

Chinese Super League outfit, Guangzhou Evergrande are monitoring him as well with hopes of pairing him alongside Paulinho in midfield.
