Matteo Darmian's agent has begun talks with Serie A giants over a transfer

The player has fallen out of favor with Jose Mourinho

Manchester United are expected to bolster their side this summer after after an underwhelming campaign last season, not winning a single silverware. Few players are expected to be sold in the transfer window in order to accommodate new signings.

One of the players that has been heavily linked with a summer exit is Matteo Darmian. He joined the Red Devils from Torino in the summer of 2015 and made significant contributions during his first two season with them despite not being a regular.

The 28 year old struggled to make an impression under Jose Mourinho and fell behind the pecking order last season, with the Portuguese preferring Antonio Valencia ahead of him. He just managed to make 16 appearances in all competitions

The Premier League giants have already completed the signing of teenage full back Diogo Dalot from Porto few weeks ago which indicates that the Italian’s future at Old Trafford might be over.

His contract expires at the end of the next season and has the option to sign on for an extra year at Old Trafford.

But the defender has been linked with a return to his homeland with Juventus showing the most interest in him during the past couple of months. Stephan Lichsteiner has left them on a free transfer to join Arsenal and the club are looking to reinforce that area.

The Italy International has reportedly agreed terms with the Turin side but both the clubs are yet to reach agreement over a potential transfer fee. United want £20 million for him but the Serie A Champions considers it too costly and wants them to lower the asking price.

Darmian’s agent has begun talks with Juventus over a transfer, claims Sky Italia. His agent has met with Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici, with negotiations currently ongoing.
