Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that Alexis Sanchez could be back from his injury and fit and ready to face Barcelona next week for the return leg of the quarter final against the Catalonians at Nou Camp.

Asked about Sanchez’s fitness, Solskjaer said: “He is training with us and trained twice. He’ll train today and he’s injury-free. I’m not sure he’s 100 per cent ready for tomorrow [West Ham on Saturday] but more likely maybe for the Barcelona game, so let’s see.”

He also gave an update for Herrera’s fitness. He said: “Herrera is still out, so he won’t be available. I doubt Nemanja is available because of his illness, but he’s a warrior and he really wants to join in and help his team-mates. Let’s see after today, because he trained individually yesterday [Thursday].”

Barcelona visited Manchester United earlier this week and sneaked in a 1-0 win at Old Trafford. The Red Devils were without Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera but Scott McTominay fitted in brilliantly well. In attack, they had Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford but Alexis Sanchez, the veteran was missing. United will hope they can make amends next week.
