Eric Baillly is happy at Manchester United

But the player wants talks with Jose Mourinho over his future

Eric Bailly joined Manchester United from Villareal for a reported fee of £30 million, signing a four-year contract with the option of an additional two in 2016. Since then he has been an integral part of the team and established himself as one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

The 24 year old impressed during his debut season with the Red Devils, making 37 starts and helping them to win the League Cup and Europa League.

The Ivory Coast International started the last season season brightly and was one of the stand out players. But an untimely injury picked in November which sidelined for three months.

After fighting back from an ankle injury in February, the centre-back struggled for regular game time as Phil Jones and Chris Smalling started ahead of him. He spent the closing stages of last season in the cold, after falling out of favour as one of Jose Mourinho’s first choice defenders.

After leaving him out for the FA Cup semi-final, the Portuguese coach gave the bizarre reasoning that he preferred to pick players who were heading to the World Cup.

The 2017-2018 campaign proved to be a frustrating one for the defender, as he managed to star only 15 games. Recent absences led to speculations that he could be up for a summer move, despite he still has two years left on his contract.

Bailly is happy at Manchester United but wants talks with Jose Mourinho to sort his long-term future before the start of the season according to The Sun.

The player claims that there is no serious issues but is determined that he will not spend the upcoming season on the bench. He wants urgent talks with the manager to sort out his long term future with the club.
