Solskjaer Wants Manchester United To Bring Back The Spirit Of '99 Ahead Of PSG Clash

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that he wants his side to bring back the spirit of 1999 treble winning team ahead of their Champions League clash against Paris Saint Germain. The Red Devils will travel to Parc Des Princes to take on the Ligue 1 giants who have a 2-0 advantage over them from the first leg that was played at the Old Trafford last month.

Speaking to the media ahead of their do or die match, Solskjaer, who was the hero of the UCL final against Bayern Munich in 1999, said, “I have to say that we felt invincible,” as he recalled the tremendous victory by the Red Devils, overturning a 1-0 lead to win it by 2-1 in the dying minutes of the match.

He added, “We felt that every game we were in with a chance to win, from the way we won it against Arsenal in that FA Cup semi-final, when they missed a penalty and we scored the winner after that. That belief is here now, I have to say. They’re confident going into the game, even knowing we’re 2-0 down.”

Solskjaer concluded, “We know it’s going to be difficult. We played them here and they’re a good team, and we’ve got loads of injuries, but there are a few boys here who will want to be a part of it.”
