Following a dramatic 4-3 win against Manchester United, Copenhagen defender Denis Vavro delivered a blistering attack on Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.

Vavro accused Garnacho of ruining the penalty spot before Diogo Goncalves calmly converted in stoppage time during the first half. This time, Copenhagen’s players were prepared for Garnacho’s stunts and thwarted his efforts.

Vavro angrily told Bold.dk after match: “I saw that he tried to do something about the penalty kick, but Kevin Diks stood in front and blocked.

“It is the second time. And then on our track? To me he is a clown.

“He has the mentality of a child when he tries something like this again. In an away game.

“One thing is at home in the 97th minute, but here in the first half. I don’t understand him trying to do that.”

Garnacho, known for his bold antics, enraged the opposition even more. Lukas Lerager, a 30-year-old midfielder, had a heated exchange with the United star in the second half, stating that Garnacho had dived under his challenge.

Lerager stated: “Sometimes people in the big clubs have to bow their heads a little. Just know that they are human too.

“There is just a situation where I take the ball from him inside the field, where he throws himself, and then I tell him some things that are not so nice, but still with respect for him as a person.

“It just doesn’t suit such a man. And then they need to know.”

While gamesmanship might occasionally shift the scales in one’s favor, it takes on a different tone when one is defeated.

Despite Garnacho’s previous showboating when Bruno Fernandes earned a 3-2 lead, Manchester United succumbed to a late defeat, leaving their youthful sensation bewildered as Copenhagen had the last laugh in their tense clash.
