Brandon Williams is the best choice for Manchester United at left-back.
Luke Shaw is struggling with his fitness yet again while Old Trafford stalwart, Ashley Young has left for Inter Milan.
That means Williams is the most likely to start in the position against Liverpool, facing the full wrath of Mohamed Salah. That is a daunting task for a youngster who only has 7 Premier League games under his belt.
Williams has proven to be the most influential youth player in this United side even though most of the hype has been behind Mason Greenwood, Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong. He has quietly secured a starting berth for the Red Devils and is continuing to improve at a meteoric rate.
The 19-year-old put pen to paper on a new deal which will keep him at Old Trafford till June 2022. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would prefer to see Williams grow in the first team instead of dumping more cash on the transfer market to find a starting player.
The Red Devils have already invested £140m last summer on their defence. Now, they need to prioritise improvements up front and in the middle of the park. Meanwhile, Williams faces the biggest test of his short career on Sunday.
