Former Manchester United player reveals what he thinks of Jose Mourinho

The player was sold by the Portuguese manager

Daley Blind was sold by Manchester United this summer as Jose Mourinho was sure that he will sign a centre-back replacement and happily allowed the versatile player to leave.

The Netherlands International returned back to his former club Ajax, for whom he player more than 100 Eredevise games before moving to England.

The 27 year old joined the Red Devils for a reported fee of £13.8 million in 2014. He was a regular and made significant contributions for the club during his first two seasons with the club.

The defender featured 30 times in all competitions under Jose Mourinho during the 2016/2017 campaign. He helped his team to win the League cup and the Europa League.

However, the player struggled to make an impression under Mourinho last term and fell behind the pecking order last season, with the manager preferring Ashley Young ahead of him. He just managed to make 7 Premier League appearances and 17 appearances in all competitions.

It was expected that the Dutchman could be the one to leave the club this summer as the former Chelsea boss prioritized signing a new centre-back. The Premier League giants were linked to host of players but failed to sign anyone before the transfer deadline.

But Blind holds no grudge over Mourinho and instead has the chosen the option to praise him by referring him as a winner.

“I learned a lot from him. He is a winner. And he can project that very well on a group,” he said as quoted by Express Sport.

“I almost played 150 matches. I won four trophies at United.

“I had a very beautiful time. I had many nice moments there.

“I am very grateful to the fans. I worked very nice[ly] with Mourinho.”
