Manager Confirms Club's Efforts To Lure Away Manchester United Keeper

Manchester United’s young goalkeeper, Dean Henderson has been a subject of heavy interest from Sheffield United.

The 22-year-old is currently on loan with the Championship outfit and has a key component of their promotion-winning side this season. The Blades manager, Chris Wilder has confirmed that he has spoken to the Red Devils about keeping the shot-stopper for longer.

Reports are still unclear on whether Sheffield are looking to buy Henderson off from the hands of United, where his chances of playing is terribly low or if they simply want to extend his loan spell.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not revealed anything on the matter but he might just be concerned by David De Gea’s recent form and the Spanish number one’s desire to move on from Old Trafford.

Not only has the 25-year-old’s form dropped in the second half of the 2018/19 campaign but his wage demands seem to be causing problems as well.

Henderson might not have expressed the same potential to emulate De Gea or even Sergio Romero at this point but he still has a lot to show for.

“We’re in discussions with Manchester United, I went across for the Manchester derby, we’ve got a great relationship with them,” Wilder said.

“To sample that atmosphere walking up to Old Trafford through the tunnel, just gave myself and Alan (Knill) a burst and it was fabulous seeing everyone there.

“We’re hopeful having spoken with the powers that be at Manchester United that we can agree a deal for Dean to play for us in the Premier League next year.”
