Jesse Lingard has expressed his desire to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United.

The Portuguese first hogged the limelight when he arrived from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester. It took very little time for him to stamp his authority at the Old Trafford and he went on to be one of the most decorated footballers to have ever don the United shirt.

His scintillating display saw Real Madrid came calling for him as the Spanish giants splashed a whopping £80m to acquire his service and the 34 year old maintained his domination leading the club to two La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues.

Lingard didn’t have the opportunity to share the dressing room with the forward but insists he would love to have him as his teammate.  “I would love [Manchester United] to sign [Cristiano] Ronaldo. He has been one of the best players in the world over the last decade.

“He has been here before so he would slot right back in.

“Growing up he was just unbelievable to watch in a United shirt, so on a personal note it would be amazing to play with him.”
