Manchester United are interested in signing Barcelona Star

Jose Mourinho wants to bolster his side this summer

Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad in the transfer window after an underwhelming campaign last season, not winning a single silverware.

The Red Devils are expected to be very busy in the summer transfer window and has started the transfer window in an excellent way. They have already completed two signings, teenage full-back Diogo Dalot has signed from Porto, while a £52.5 million fee has been agreed with Shakhtar Donetsk for Brazil international Fred.

Despite having the most clean sheets and the second best defensive record in the Premier League last term, Jose Mourinho was not happy as he had to rely on auxiliary full-backs and failed to settle on a consistent central defensive axis due to injuries and inconsistency.

The Club’s priority is to add defensive reinforcements and could sell few players to accommodate new signings. Mourinho is targeting a top class left back as Luke Shaw has been heavily linked with a summer exit.

Ashley Young is going to turn 33 next season and the English side wants a long term replacement in that position. They have already been linked to the likes of Alex Sandro and Danny Rose.

Manchester United are interested in signing Barcelona full-back Jordi Alba, according to Don Balon .

He joined the La Liga giants from Valencia for a transfer fee of €14 million, signing a 5 year contract in 2012. He has been the mainstay on the left side of the defense since then and has established himself as one of the best full-back in the world.

He has won 4 La Liga titles with the Spanish side and has won 1 Champions League too, beating Juventus in 2015.

The Spaniard was a regular for the club last term, seeing of competition from Lucas Digne again. He has scored 3 goals and assisted 8 in 46 appearances and helped his team to win the Domestic double.

Premier League rival Tottenham are also interested in signing him and are keeping tabs on him.
