Manchester United’s season has resumed after being put on hold for five weeks to make room for this winter’s World Cup

With victories over Burnley and Nottingham Forest in the last eight days, Erik ten Hag’s team has had a good start to club football.

Due to the tumultuous World Cup break, the rigorous holiday schedule is more demanding than ever, thus Ten Hag will need to utilise his entire roster. Prior to the last three games, Diogo Dalot has started every competitive match for the Reds, but an injury he suffered while representing Portugal in Qatar has forced him to miss the opening two games of the new season.

Ten Hag has now received a significant boost ahead of Saturday’s match against Wolves as the talented full-back has resumed full training with the rest of the United team.

Victor Lindelof, who missed the match against Forest due to illness, and Dalot were both seen on the practise fields when footage of Manchester United’s training session was made public on Friday. In Dalot’s absence, Aaron Wan-Bissaka has excelled, with his acrobatic assist against Burnley standing out. He was also among the players who stood out against Forest.

But it’s likely that Dalot will be reinstalled in the lineup nearly right away once he’s back to full strength. The Portugal international is reportedly in negotiations with Old Trafford for a new long-term contract after exceeding all expectations this season.
