Manchester United set asking price for Inter Milan loanee Alexis Sanchez

The Red Devils don’t see Alexis returning at the club anytime soon.

United are reportedly eager to offload Alexis Sanchez and they have set the price they would be willing to take.

Manchester United will attempt to cut all ties with Alexis Sanchez next summer, bringing to an end a disastrous spell at Old Trafford.

The Chilean international joined the Red Devils from Arsenal in a swap deal that saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan go the other way. Sanchez had a bizarre spell at Old Trafford, scoring just five goals and providing nine assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

The 30-year-old joined Inter Milan for a season-long loan this August and has so far played four matches under Antonio Conte, scoring against Sampdoria while providing an assist against Slavia Prague.

Sanchez is the club’s top earner, picking up a ridiculous £500,000-a-week, but United chiefs see no way back for him despite him having another three years left on his contract. According to The Sun, Manchester United will demand £25 million from any club who tries to buy him next summer.

After a forgetful spell at Old Trafford, Sanchez will be hoping to rediscover his form at Inter Milan. Provided he excels this season, the Nerazzurri might try to sign him permanently in the summer.

After missing out on his side’s first defeat of the season against Juventus due to suspension, Sanchez will join the Chile national team for their friendlies against Colombia and Guinea.

He might find a place in Conte’s squad for Inter Milan’s next match which is against Sassuolo on 20 October.

5 reasons why Manchester United should not sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United have now found themselves in a similar state as they did last year. Following Solskjaer’s appointment as the permanent manager, the Red Devils find themselves with only 9 points from 8 games and in the 12th positions.

In such turbulent times, United’s fanbase has been divided, with some portion of the fans thinking Solskjaer deserves to be axed. However, for the Norwegian to present his casez there are certain points he can stress on. Let’s see what they are.

5. Injuries

The media has been ranting on about how United have managed to score more than one goal in only one game this season. They smashed Chelsea with a 4-0 scoreline on an opening day.

However, following that game, Solskjaer has lost a major chunk of his senior players to injuries. Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelof, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw; the list goes on.

He deserves to be given time to incorporate his philosophy and that is something that will take time to succeed. With all due respect, the Glazers should sympathize with Solskjaer’s plight first before they even think of wielding the axe.

4. Managerial circus

How long and how many managers are United going to put under the bus just because the players don’t perform well? Ever since Sir Alex retired, Solskjaer is the fourth manager to be appointed in six years.

And yet, United haven’t been able to find their feet, which clearly shows that the absence of stability is a big reason for their struggles. The board has made some reckless decisions which is why United’s plight is aggravated to a level that wasn’t expected.

Solskjaer being a loyal Man United player himself understands what is needed better than any other person. The Norwegian is trying to re-establish the winning culture at Carrington. He already stated that changes won’t happen overnight in just one season; it will take time.

If the United board are actually looking for a long-term solution, they already have one on their hards.

3. The transfer inactivity

As the summer approached, Manchester United promised a squad overhaul to their fans and did exactly the opposite of that. They did make three good additions in Maguire, James and Wan-Bissaka, but their net-spend was just £75m.

Knowing the kind of massive work that was left to be done, Ed Woodward and his team were pretty slow in their approach to deliver the targets. They needed at least five players this window to field a good, strong squad that could challenge for the title.

Unless and until Solskjaer gets full backing from the hierarchy, it would be unfair to sack him and then rue the decision.

2. He needs time

Solskjaer already said this before the season commenced; with the mess Manchester United were in, it was never gonna be a one-night job to clear it all up. Added to that, the 46-year-old also has a few positive improvements to show since he became the permanent gaffer.

With the sort of academy players coming through, Solskjaer needs to find the right seniors and then create a good blend of youngsters and experienced players. For that to happen, he does need to have at least three or four transfer windows.

Only then will it be prudent to judge him.

1. The mentality

When players don’t perform we always blame the manager. That has been the case for United mostly all these years. But what’s worth understanding is that coaches can only help so much when it comes to playing the actual game.

On the pitch, United have looked toothless and lost on a number of occasions, with no player or a group of leaders to guide them. Solskjaer has reiterated how he is impressed with the players’ work-ethic but it’s clearly visible he is trying to keep a good atmosphere.

The players need to show the winning mentality and the cutting edge, both of which are in scarcity at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer fears axe following Liverpool results

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has stated that Manchester United shouldn’t sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the light of their recent troubles. The Red Devils currently sit in the 12th place with 8 points from 9 games, having won only two matches this season.

Also, United have failed to score more than one goal in all competitions since their opening day 4-0 victory over Chelsea in the league. Increasing pressure on Solskjaer’s soldiers has set people thinking that he won’t last for a long time if such results continue.

However, Murphy believes sacking the Norwegian won’t bring the solution to United’s miseries.

“It’s a huge concern that the squad after three, four years now of spending millions, hundreds of millions, is so weak,” he said.

“I don’t think getting rid of Solskjaer right now is the right thing personally.”

“Whether he’s capable or not, we’ll have to wait and see.”

“But the problem is, if you change again now and you start again, new ideas, players trying to get on board with it, and actually you can only work with the tools you’ve got.”

“Can United’s fully-fit squad with everyone firing compete with City and Liverpool? No.”

“So you might as well leave him in charge at the moment and just give him a bit of time to see when everyone’s fit if he can get them going.”

“But it is a real transitional period for United, they’re in big trouble because the quality, when you go past their first XI, isn’t great.”

“And ultimately, that’s down to recruitment, not Solskjaer, over years.”

Manchester United will face arch-rivals and table toppers Liverpool after the international break.

Robin van Persie says Solskjaer was wrong to use certain words post Newcastle game

Former Manchester United striker Robin Van Persie said that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was wrong to use certain words following their defeat to Newcastle on the weekend. The Red Devils suffered their third defeat of the season this weekend.

“You can see he’s struggling there, if I’m really honest, during that interview,” Van Persie told Optus Sport.

“And I get it if you’re manager of Manchester United during this period of time. So he’s searching for words, maybe he chose a few wrong ones there.

“Because as a player, what does that mean, ‘sorting the players’ heads out’, what does that mean?”

“If you’re a player you’re a little bit like, ‘my head is fine’. Even though you can see the players are low in confidence, he needs to find a way to reconnect again and to get their confidence high.”

“As a manager, when you’re team is low in confidence get them up, when your team is too high in confidence, when they are becoming a little bit too much, you have to get them back to the middle again.”

“At the moment, based on this interview, and based on what I’ve seen in the game, I’m not sure if he really knows how to find the buttons there.”

The Red Devil fanbase has gone into a meltdown after yet another loss in the Premier League.

Manchester United sit just 2 points above the relegation zone. In 8 matches they have collected just 9 points and they are without an away win in eleven games. This is their worst start in decades. And certainly, fans aren’t happy.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took all the blame and said that there are no excuses.

Fans have started the old “Glazers out” chant again.

A few fans are still backing the ‘defeated’ manager with “Ole we still love you.” But many have joined the “You’re getting sacked in the morning” wagon.

Some fans still want to back the manager and instead blame the owners:

Trolls are having fun. Some fans are laughing on themselves. (well, yeah defense mechanism):

Manchester United star Goalkeeper ‘doesn’t know what is happening’ after yet another poor outing.

After 8 game-weeks Manchester United have just 9 points and they sit just two points above the relegation zone. They have touched a new low. This is their worst start in three decades.

Fans, players and pundits are in shock. A number of players looked visibly depressed after the latest defeat against New Castle United.

An emotional De Gea admitted that this is the most difficult period for him since he joined Manchester United.

The 28-year-old Goalkeeper while talking to Sky Sports said, “This is probably the most difficult time since I’ve been here”

“We didn’t create any proper chances. We defended well. The team needs to step up.”

“We have some big injuries, but that’s no excuse.”

“We are Manchester United, we need to keep training hard, fighting and winning games.”

“A lot of things to improve. I don’t know what to say.”

“Keep trying, fighting, improving every day. It’s a hard moment for us.”

“The most difficult time since I’ve been here. I don’t know why, what is happening”.

“Sorry to the fans. We will keep fighting.”

“Come on, we conceded a goal from a corner. That cannot happen. It’s unacceptable.”

“Not just this game, but the whole season has not been good.”

Manage Ole took all the blame for the latest defeat. But the question is when will this end? How will this end?

5 managers who can replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

5 managers who can replace solskjaer

Manchester United are currently at a place where they shouldn’t be – 12th in the league with 9 points from 8 games and just two off the relegation zone. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s appointment looked to be the silver lining everyone had been waiting for six years. However, now it seems like yet another dark cloud taking time to getaway.

True, the Norwegian will still require time to improve his squad, but even with the squad that United have, being in the 12th position is non-acceptable. Yes, there are bad patches, but the plight United are in is unimaginable in the wildest dreams of every fan.

Though Solskjaer has said he has the backing of the board, that might not be the case until we hit mid-season. Let’s have a look at five names that could replace the boss if Woodward says it’s enough.

1. Massimiliano Allegri
5 managers who can replace solskjaer
Massimiliano Allegri is one of the best high-profile coaches available in the market. After being sacked by Juventus this season, he still remains an attractive proposition for United to court, knowing he guided the Old Lady to five consecutive titles in the Serie A.

That’s not all. Allegri also saw his team cruising to the UCL finals twice, albeit he was short of luck on the European stage to not win the competition. However, even with his versatility at the whiteboard, he is still a good candidate to uphold the club.

It remains to be seen if United do consider him should they Solskjaer.

Neville blasts board for Manchester United plight

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville has held the board room at Manchester United responsible for the club’s current plight in the league. The Red Devils have won just two out of their first eight league games and are sitting in the 12th place, just two points off the relegation zone.

“Away from home, they’re not set up to win in a sense of the mentality. They let games drift, I think they play OK in games, but they’re not ruthless, they’re not clinical. The quality is not right, the depth of their squad is not good enough and they have taken a step back.” Neville said.

“Their recruitment has been woeful for many years and they’ve been all over the place in terms of different styles of managers who are bringing in players. They now need to fix the style, fix a way of recruiting and go and get the players. They got three in the summer of the right type, they’ve done OK so far but they need another five or six.”

“They need another centre-back, they need a left-back, they need two central midfield players, they need a wide player and they need a top centre-forward. They need five or six top players in that squad and they’re going to cost a lot of money. Hopefully they can be supplemented by the young players coming through, because there is some talent in those players.”

“The board need to hold their nerve. They’re responsible for this with poor recruitment, poor selection of managers, going with them and then pulling off them. They’ve also gone for different styles of managers, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now taking the club in a completely different direction.”

Manchester United will return to Premier League action against Liverpool at Old Trafford following the international break.
