Manchester United let Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez leave in the summer and they didn’t sign anyone else to reinforce their attack. They trusted Mason Greenwood, the 17-year-old English attacker to provide cover.

But after suffering multiple injuries, Red Devils feel they don’t have enough strikers. Therefore, they are looking to sign an attacker.

They have identified Russian Striker Aleksandr Sobolev as the man.

Aleksandr is 22-year-old. He plays for the club Krylia Sovetov in the Russian Premier League.

Ole Gunnar has admitted that he needs to reinforcement up front after the two attackers joined Inter Milan in the summer.

Aleksandr Sobolev joins the shortlisted targets list, which includes Callum Wilson, Mario Mandzukic and Moussa Dembele.

Moussa Dembele could be expensive, even if all parties agree. He can cost upward of £85m. Callum Wilson could be signed but signing him mid-season can be difficult and the club will have to overpay. Mario Mandzukic will be a cheaper option but age isn’t on his side.

So, Aleksandr Sobolev has been shortlisted. He will be cheaper and is young. He is yet to make a senior appearance for the Russian National team. But he is in fine form this season. For Krylia Sovetov he has scored 10 goals and has provided 3 assists in 13 matches (all competitions).

Russian can be an interesting choice.

Dutch legend slams Manchester United players

Dutch legend Marco Van Basten has criticized Manchester United’s players for being ‘spoilt boys’ following their Europa League clash with AZ Alkmaar. The Red Devils played out a stalemate against the Eredivesie side, inviting criticism for lack of quality from fans and pundits alike.

United also haven’t been that good in the Premier League. Solskjaer’s men have notched only two wins from seven games in the English top-tier.

And, Van Basten didn’t stay behind when it came to lambasting United.

“What have United done so far? They beat Astana 1-0! They are 10th in the English Premier League and they are playing a kind of football which you really don’t want to write home about,” the former AC Milan striker said.

“If I was at AZ Alkmaar, their opponent, I’d have been very annoyed – and I would have been incredibly motivated to show how annoyed I was.”

“These United players are very well-paid professionals. So are they saying they should not be playing on an artificial pitch? Please, get lost. Stop talking about these spoilt boys.”

“These are players who are paid an awful lot of money and supposed to be so professional.”

“They shouldn’t be moaning about an artificial pitch. If you allow them to moan, you are just creating a load of wingers.”

Manchester United will look to get back to winning ways as they visit Newcastle today.

Manchester United need to sign five players, says Ryan Giggs

Former Manchester United player and legend Ryan Giggs has said that the Red Devils need to sign at least five more players to compete for titles.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has endured a rocky start to his first full season as the United boss. The Red Devils have notched only 9 points from their first 7 games which happen to be their worst start in thirty years.

“They need another four or five players,” the Wales manager said.

“He (Solskjaer) has bought in three players but he probably needs seven or eight (altogether). ”

“But you can’t do that over one transfer window, so you have to be patient because it will be slow.”

“The culture has changed and what he is trying to do was much needed. He needs time.”

Giggs also spared some praise for Newcastle boss Steve Bruce ahead of their clash with the Red Devils.

“I knew Brucey as a player and he was a leader,” Giggs said.

“I’ve also spoken to players who have played for him and they have enjoyed it. It’s a tough club, Newcastle.”

“When you don’t win regularly at big clubs you are going to get criticised. But Brucey and Ole are big enough characters to turn it around, with time and a bit of luck. Every manager needs that.”

Manchester United will look to return to winning ways as they face Newcastle in the league today.

Manchester United enter race to sign regenerated Wonderkid Martin Odegaard

The youngster’s stellar performances for have reportedly caught the attention of Manchester United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Manchester United have joined the race to sign in-form Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard.

A whole host of clubs are suddenly interested in Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard, as he has impressed on loan with Real Sociedad this season. The 20-year-old has impressed this term on loan at Real Sociedad, where he has scored two goals, supplied two assists and been one of La Liga’s most creative midfielders.

The Sun claims that Premier League rivals Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City have been keen, but Manchester United have also entered the race for the youngster and have sent scouts to watch him play.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Martin Odegaard to be a part of the youthful team that he is building. His value is being estimated around €30 million and reports indicate that the promise of regular Premier League football will be enough to convince him.

Odegaard has been so good this season that his performances have earned him the title of Player of the month for September. No player has also created more chances in the Spanish top-flight so far this season than the Norway starlet.

The Norwegian has spent a number of unsuccessful loan spells away from the Bernabeu since signing aged 16. Madrid have an option to recall Odegaard from his two-year loan deal, but it is thought the player may find first team opportunities hard to come by in Madrid’s susperstar-filled first 11.

He made his debut in 2015, but has only made two appearances since. It remains to be seen if Real Madrid are interested in cashing in on the youngster or keep him for the long run.

Michael Owen slams Manchester United squad

Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has lambasted the Red Devils squad saying it is the ‘worst squad ever’. The Englishman was highly disappointed following United’s 0-0 draw to Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar.

Solskjaer’s men failed to break the deadlock for the entirety of ninety minutes, registering their 10th away game without a win in succession.

“Yes, I’d say [Manchester United are now a mid-table team]. I don’t think they’ll be top six this season, personally,” Owen said on BT Sport.

“Top half I think is likely, but just the fact we’re having this conversation is the worry, isn’t it?”

“This has got to be the worst Manchester United team for decades, hasn’t it? Since before Sir Alex Ferguson took over.”

“It’s been happening for a few years. For maybe five, six, seven, eight years you’ve been thinking ‘it can’t get any worse’, and it has.

“The point that I’d like to make is that in many ways, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has knowingly weakened his team.”

“Getting rid of people like Lukaku, Herrera, [Matteo] Darmian, Sanchez, [Chris] Smalling. He knows he could improve his team with those players, but I think he’s taken the view that you’ve got to take a couple of steps backwards to then move forwards.”

“He’s done that on purpose thinking, ‘right, we’ve just got to rid ourselves of players that, OK they’re probably better than what we’ve got, but are they going to take us to where we want to go?'”

“That answer is no, then you’re almost starting from scratch and I think that’s what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done.”

Manchester United will face Newcastle away on Sunday this week.

Manchester United Boss is surprised and unhappy with the condition of the pitch ahead for the UEFA Europa League clash on Thursday.

AZ Alkmaar will host Manchester United at Cars Jeans Stadium, which has an astroturf pitch. It was built for the 2013 Hockey World Cup. It was built after a fraction of the roof at AZ Alkmaar’s own stadium collapsed in August. The Astroturf pitch is going to be replaced soon, however, not before the Manchester United clash. And this has caused major unhappiness to the Red Devils manager.

Ole is “surprised” by the pitch.

Solskjaer said, “It’s OK when you live in the North Pole like we do in Norway.”

“Here, I’m surprised.”

“It’s one of the worst I’ve seen for a long while. In Norway, they’re all more modern and new.

“It’s safe, it’s just not the newest.”

Speaking about Pogba Ole said, “I wouldn’t risk him on astroturf even if he was available for this game,” the United manager added.

“With my knees, I’ve not really enjoyed astroturf. These young boys are OK.”

Manchester United won the match-day one of the Europa League and will be looking to continue.

Manchester United are traveling with 10 academy graduates. Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are absent due to their respective injuries.

Ole is backing the youngsters and wants them to grasp the moment, run and finish the chances.

Massimiliano Allegri Ready To Takeover Solskjaer’s Manchester United Post

Massimiliano Allegri Ready To Takeover Solskjaer's Manchester United Post

Massimiliano Allegri is waiting for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to get sacked so that he can take charge of Manchester United.

The Norwegian boss has come under pressure after getting United off to a rocky start this season.

The Red Devils are currently 10th in the Premier League standings, making it their worst start to a campaign in 30 years. Despite Solskjaer’s shortcomings, the general idea is his job might still be safe come January which is why reports continue to link United with players of his liking.

According to other news sources, Allegri has even taken it upon himself to learn English in preparation for a job in the United Kingdom. The Italian has been out of work since he led Juventus to their 8th consecutive Serie A title.

He was noticed in London viewing the 7-2 fixture between Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday. Many clubs have taken note of his availability, especially a couple of the Premier League big guns.

Solskjaer job security comes from the three-year deal he signed with United in March. The Glazers family, who own the Manchester-based outfit have admitted that they don’t expect a title challenge before the 2021/22 season.

Therefore, the Red Devils supporters might have to withstand their frustrations for a bit longer and Allegri to look for a job elsewhere.

Manchester United Looking To Steal Real Madrid Playmaker Away From Rivals

Manchester United Looking To Steal Real Madrid Playmaker Away From Rivals

Manchester United are looking to beat Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City to the signing of Real Madrid youngster, Martin Ødegaard.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is scouting for more creative talent and has picked the budding La Liga playmaker as his top target.

Ødegaard has failed to make the grade at Real after securing a move in 2015 for £4.1m. 16, at that point of time, he became the highest-paid teenager in football with a rumoured contract worth around €80,000 per week.

Let’s just say the Norwegian arrived with a lot of hype around him but all of it disappeared after his single appearance for the Galacticos. In the past 4 seasons, Ødegaard has bounced around in loan spells to SC Heerenveen, Vitesse and Real Sociedad (current team) and has made 97 league appearances.

Despite growing as a footballer, Real are unwilling to give him a chance until he becomes a finished product which is why they are targetting the likes of Paul Pogba and Christian Eriksen in the January transfer market.

United and all of their Premier League rivals seems to have picked up on that are preparing bids of their own. Arsenal are looking to make Ødegaard their replacement for Mesut Ozil and City for David Silva.

Ozil continues to be an outcast at North London and Pep Guardiola is still not sold on the prospect of Phil Foden. However, they do not have as strong a need for creative talent like United as Solskjaer has been trying to steady the ship at Old Trafford.
