Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has retained the core part of his backroom staff as Michael Carrick, Kieran McKenna and Mark Dempsey will be there with him at Manchester United.

Mike Phelan’s appointment has already been confirmed and this trio will be seen working together as United is facing a tough rebuilding job.

Carrick was Jose Mourinho’s one of the assistants after he hung up his boots while McKenna was rewarded with a promotion to the senior setup for his wonderful work with the United U18s.

Dempsey has been with the Norwegian manager during his Molde and Cardiff City days and went on join the former United forward at United.

Solskjaer said, “They are all going to stay. I think that’s important, that we keep that team going forward.

“We do bounce off each other and they are some excellent coaches. Kieran, with his 32 years of age, you’d think he’s had 32 years in coaching.

“Demps – I’ve worked with him now since 2011 when I moved back to Norway, he came with me to Molde. He’s a Manchester United lad through and through, he came through with Norman Whiteside and Mark Hughes in that youth team. I think he was captain and he played once for the first team. He knows what this means.

“Michael – what can I say that no one else knows about Michael? When he came in, it was my last season as a player so I played with him for one year. He’s a personality I can really connect with.”

Manchester United Considering Darren Fletcher For The Technical Director Role

Manchester United Considering Darren Fletcher For The Technical Director Role

Manchester United are considering Darren Fletcher for the role of the technical director.

A disappointing season ended with a shambolic defeat to Cardiff City on the last day and club hierarchy is expected to bring in a number of changes to the current system. One of them is appointing a technical director who would work as a bridge between the manager and the chairman.

former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho refused to work under a technical director but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already sanctioned the move to bring accountability in the club ranks.

United are believed to be preferring candidates with a past history with clubs and Fletcher has the advantage of having played over 300 matches for the Red Devils. United also have had a discussion with former defender Rio Ferdinand too and he is also interested in taking this new job.

A number of former players are currently working at various positions at the club Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the senior team manager, Michale Carrick is one of Solskjaer’s assistants while Nicky Butt is the academy manager.

Fletcher currently plies his trade for Stoke City in the Championship but is likely not to be offered a contract extension when his existing deal expires in the summer.

Patrice Evra Expecting A Massive Overhaul In Summer At Manchester United

Patrice Evra is expecting a summer overhaul at Manchester United.

The Red Devils had a disappointing end to their season as Cardiff City inflicted a shambolic defeat on them at the Old Trafford. Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was given the permanent charge the momentum shifted rapidly and United looked very miserable in most of the matches.

The manager has already hinted the club may have to clear the deadwood in the summer in a bid to restore normalcy at the club and Evra echoed his decision. The likes of Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez haven’t lived up to the expectations and Evra insists Pogba would be one of the firsts to leave the club in the summer.

“I don’t want to blame all the players because I think that some players are here (at United) and they themselves don’t even know why they are here,

“I think (Pogba) will leave, because you need to feel the love when you play somewhere, you need to be committed. If Paul decides to stay another year and then leave, or stay another few years, maybe the fans will love him because he is committed.

“It’s not like I am protecting Paul but when there are incidents like yesterday with the fan, they are killing Paul.”

Manchester United To Rival Arsenal For £45m Ligue 1 Attacker

Manchester United are eyeing up a move for the most wanted Ligue 1 star, Nicolas Pepe. The Lille winger has attracted interests from a lot of Europea outfits with his performances this season.

He has racked up 21 goals and 12 assists in 39 appearances and is being pursued by both Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal. Pepe can play in a number of varied attacking positions including the centre-forward post.

This makes him an ideal fit into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s system at the Old Trafford. The Norwegian likes to implement a free-flowing attacking lineup with a lot of pace and quick passing.

Pepe does not lack in any of those departments and he has managed to fine tune his finishing as well. Lille president, Gerard Lopez has already confirmed that the player is subject of interest of various clubs.

PSG are thought to have made contact with their league rivals but United are confident of winning Pepe’s services even without Champions League football.

Their £75m signing from 2017, Romelu Lukaku has failed to meet expectations in United’s 6th place Premier League finish. His future has been cast into doubt with reports constantly linking him with a move away from Old Trafford.

Solskjaer ideally would require a replacement which could very well be the £45m Lille attacker.

Ander Herrera Believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Is The Right Man To Take Manchester United Ahead

Ander Herrera Believes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Is The Right Man To Take Manchester United Ahead

Ander Herrera has backed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to carry forward the Manchester United mantle successfully.

The Norwegian was handed the charge after the dismissal of Jose Mourinho back in December last year and had managed to turn the tide to United’s favour.

The Red Devils broke into the Premier League top four and also fought from two goals down to tame down Paris Saint Germain to book a place in the Champions League quarters.

United hierarchy decided to trust him with the permanent managerial post but that hasn’t gone down well so far. United have managed just two wins in this phase and defeats against Cardiff City and Barcelona have hurt the Red Devils very much.

Herrera said, “I really believe in Ole. I really believe in Michael [Carrick], Kieran [McKenna], Mick Phelan, in Demps (Mark Dempsey), but I think there is a tough job ahead.

“That is my opinion as a fan and as someone who knows the club at the moment.

“These fans are the best, they are amazing, but they need time. They need time because this is not going to be from the first day. The club will need time, confidence and support

“I am sure they will give it but the only thing I ask for them is time because this is not easy.

“[But] the right person is at the wheel. He’s the right person”

Juan Mata Sums Up Disappointing Manchester United Season In An Emotional Note

Juan Mata Sums Up Disappointing Manchester United Season In An Emotional Note

Juan Mata has underlined his disappointment following Manchester United’s harrowing 2-0 loss to Cardiff City on the final day of the Premier League season.

The Red Devils were expected to get past the already relegated side with ease but a lack of intent and purpose saw Cardiff getting the better off the English giants.

United’s failure to win this game meant there will be no Champions League football next season and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will be competing in the Europa League.

Mata’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season and the Spaniard could be the third player after Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia as he is yet to take a decision on his future.

Mata said, “A defeat on the Premier League’s final weekend was the worst way to finish off what hasn’t been a good campaign for anyone who is part of the Manchester United family.

“There have been some good moments and matches along the way, which have to be remembered, but the feeling, in the end, is very bitter.

“None of us are satisfied with the general performance levels that we have offered, for one reason or another. When we win, we do so together, and when we lose we also share the responsibility.

“Now is the moment to analyse, reflect and improve, because this club should be in a different situation to the one we find ourselves in, there can be no doubt about that.

“Although it isn’t healthy to just focus on the negatives, it also isn’t possible to deny the obvious. We have to be realistic and the season has been very disappointing.

“It’s very painful and that feeling will last through the whole summer. You all deserve a lot more than what you’re getting. That is the reality.”

Ole Solskjaer Disclosed Manchester United’s Targets After Cardiff Loss

Ole Solskjaer Disclosed Manchester United's Targets After Cardiff Loss

Ole Solskjaer revealed Manchester United targets after losing 2-0 to a relegated Cardiff City on Sunday.

The Norwegian has now managed just 2 wins out of the last 12 games as the Red Devils boss which created a lot of tension among the fan base.

He has been vocal about the changes that need to be made at the club in order to compete against the very top.

“We’re used to challenging for the Premier League and that’s not going to be sorted quickly,” Solksjaer said last night. “Realistically you’re not going to catch however many points – we’re 32 points behind the top teams. We’ve got to realistically challenge for the top four and another trophy.

“Last time we were in the Europa League with Jose (Mourinho) and loads of these players, we won it. The FA Cup and the Carabao Cup, they’re trophies we’ve got to start the season aiming to win.”

The 46-year-old also admitted to holding talks with Ed Woodward and the rest of the United ownership. He is expected to revamp the current squad with quality signings this summer.

“I’ve had loads of conversations and they’ve been up front and honest. We know where we are at and it’s too far behind where we want to be,” Solskjaer added.

“Towards the end of the season it makes it clearer. When I came in around Christmas and when we had that great run of form, sometimes that’s human nature, you’re confident, maybe overconfident, and we pipped games into our favour, we played some great football at times and towards the end we’ve seen that exceptional efficiency we had didn’t last, so they know we’re in for a rebuild.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Embarrasses After Cardiff Defeat

0

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is embarrassed after being clapped by the fans following their 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City at the Old Trafford.

Manchester United submerged to a new low as there were hardly any kind of intent from the players and Cardiff put in a valiant display despite their relegation to the Championship.

Solskjaer decided to hand a full time debut to Mason Greenwood and the youngster was the only shining light what otherwise was a disastrous afternoon for the 20 times English champions.

Greenwood provided an array of purposeful attacking display but lacked the cutting edge and his performance would surely encourage the manager when they come back next season.

Solskjaer said, “We’re not a club which should end up sixth.

“That’s where we are at the moment, but we’re ready for it, the fans, supporters today too.

“It’s near embarrassing when you walk off the pitch clapping them and get the support we have. That’s the base of this club, the foundation is so great, we’ll come back again.

“You never know where we’ll end up, but clearly we’re sixth, that’s not where we want to be

“It’s about a settled team, settled system, getting players fit, there’s loads of different factors.

“There’s good players here who have gone through a difficult season, there’s different reasons that they haven’t had good seasons. It might be their fault, our fault, or the club’s fault, everyone will look at themselves and say they can do better.”

Manchester United are reportedly monitoring Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

The midfielder was linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain in winter but the deal failed to gain momentum and he went on to stay at the Goodison Park. United are on the lookout for at least one midfielder and Gueye has the attributes to match the profile.

The 29 year old has been pretty consistent for the middle of the park for the Toffees this season and Marco Silva would do everything to keep him tied at the club. But the 29 year old wants to explore new opportunities and United could enter the fray next summer.

Given the lengthy contract he has, the Merseysiders are going to demand at least £40m for the Senegalese midfielder. Gueye’s defensive assurance in front of the back four could be pivotal to bring out the best of Paul Pogba.

Despite racking up 13 goals this season in the Premier League Poga has faced a lot of criticism for his inconsistency and Gueye could restore normalcy in the United midfield.

Everton are ready to entertain offers for him and United shouldn’t waste much time before lodging a bid in the summer.
