Phil Jones Hails The Impact Of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Phil Jones has underlined the importance of having ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he insists the introduction of the former Manchester United forward has brought in massive changes at the club.

Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho who had a torrid time managing the club. The last few months of his tenure disrupted the regular proceedings at the club but Solskjaer has ensured things don’t get too messy at the Old Trafford.

United are unbeaten since he has been given the charge and have emerged a potential candidate for a place in the top four. The Red Devils have somewhat overturned their recent form and have been on a good run lately.

Jones has heaped praises on his manager. “He’s brought a freshness about the place.

“He’s come in and wanted to move us forward and bring those happy times back, and I think he’s done that.

“His man-management skills are very good. He’ll let players know what’s happening, and as players that’s all you can ask for.

“You just want a manager to be honest with you, and that’s exactly what he gives you.”

He further added, “We’ve achieved nothing. We might have gone on a little run and everyone’s talking about us, but it means nothing.

“We’re outside the top four which is obviously not where we want to be, and we have to make sure we finish in the top four.

“Come the end of the season, if we do – OK we’ve not had a successful season – but we’ve made the best out of it that we can.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Calls On Anthony Martial To Ramp Up The Intensity

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has challenged Anthony Martial to sharpen his skills in a bid to score more goals for Manchester United.

The 23 year old just extended his stay by another five years and is likely to be United’s main attacking threat alongside Marcus Rashford. The French international was on the verge of leaving the club in the summer but the arrival of Solskjaer has eased the proceedings and it has reflected pretty evidently as the French international has gone onto put pen to paper to a new long term contract.

Martial’s partnership with Rashford has been one of the most talked about things but the pair hasn’t really flourished so far. But in this new free flowing style, Martial has shown flashes of brilliance which could really help the Red Devils for the remaining part of the season.

Solskjaer said, “I’d like him to make a few more runs in behind. He doesn’t miss chances. He’s a fantastic finisher, so he needs to get more chances.

“I keep telling him you need to read and sniff whether there’s going to be a chance. Maybe get some scruffy goals as well.

“Him and Marcus (Rashford) score lots of ‘worldy’ goals, but those five or six extra goals that I used to do with tap-ins, by making those runs, go a long way.”

Manchester United May Have Found A Solution To Their Midfield Woes In Nicolo Barella

Manchester United may have found a long term solution as the Red Devils are believed to be interested in Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella.

The Italian international has been on the headlines for his link up with Chelsea but Maurizio Sarri is unlikely to get his service. Chelsea have refused to meet Cagliari’s demand of £45m and their interest in the player have cooled off.

United are yet to lodge a formal bid for the youngster but he could be the perfect player to lead the Red Devils midfield. Interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has mostly preferred Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba in a midfield three to drive the team from the middle of the park.

Matic has been the defensive shield providing an extra layer of protection just before the backline while Herrera has been doing all the dirty work. These two has managed to put Pogba in the control of the creative work and the French midfielder is having a wonderful season so far.

Barella could be the midfield engine United have been searching for long. His playmaking skills from the deep would help the likes of Paul Pogba as the French midfielder has been at the forefront of all United strategy.

Martial expresses his delight following his contract renewal with the club.  “I am loving my time at this club.  From the day I joined I have been made to feel part of the United family and I have been incredibly humbled and overwhelmed by the warmth and love of our fans, who continue to amaze me with their support.

Ashley Young Set To Sign New Manchester United Contract Extension

Ashley Young is all set to extend his stay at Manchester United as the 33 year old is on the verge of putting pen to paper to a new contract.

Young has been one of the regulars for the Red Devils this season and has chipped in with valuable contribution whenever he has been called up. United hierarchy is pretty happy with the player’s contribution and is planning to reward the player with a brand new contract.

Former manager Jose Mourinho opted to give the player a one year extension in the last summer and it has proved to be a brilliant decision as the former Aston Villa winger has bailed out United on a number of occasions over the last couple of seasons.

Young started his career as a left winger but Mourinho’s greater influence turned him into a proper side back and he excelled in that position in such a way that England manager Gareth Southgate took him to World Cup as the first choice left back for the Three Lions.

Anthony Martial’s contract extension sparked a lot of attention recently. A host of other players with the likes of David De Gea and Ander Herrera are also in the line to receive new deals and Young could set the path for them.

According to reports from The Sun, Real Madrid are planning to make a huge £100 bid for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford before the summer.

Rashford’s performances for Manchester United have been pretty impressive lately. In 29 appearances across all competitions, the 21-year old has netted 9 goals and has provided 6 assists. Rashford has scored 5 goals in the 7 Premier League matches under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Rashford’s current contract at Manchester United expires in the summer of 2020. Manchester United are hoping for the forward to sign a new contract so that he doesn’t leave the club.

However, Real Madrid have reportedly promised Rashford to make him their top striker and a contract more lucrative than that of Manchester United’s. Besides, Real are more keen on signing Rashford before he signs a new contract with the Red Devils.

Real Madrid haven’t had a very memorable season so far and need some fortification in the attacking department. Hence, they are eager to get Rashford’s signature.

Manchester United have been rejuvenated after the arrival of club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as assistant manager and Marcus Rashford has been an integral player in the past few weeks.

Hence, Manchester United will surely do everything possible to prevent Rashford from leaving the club.

Solskjaer Hails The Fighting Spirit Of Man United Players

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hailed the fighting spirit of his players in the match against Burnley. The Clarets took the lead in the match via two goals from Ashley Burns and Chris Wood but the Red Devils came back strongly in the match to scrape out a draw with Paul Pogba scoring from the spot before Victor Lindelof scored the equaliser.

Speaking to the media after the match, the interim manager said, “So many people are saying great spirit, fighting spirit, and and I was happy with that response, and the result. We could even have got three points at the end, but just ran out of time.”

He added, “We’ve asked do they have the fighting spirit, and now we have seen they have. They have shown we have the right response when we go down, and have that fighting spirit. It’s easy then when you are winning isn’t it, it is easy to sit and smile. But the danger of winning, is you start thinking you’ve earned the right to start at 90 per cent. But today we learnt we can’t do that.”

Solskjaer concluded, “We started too slowly, we didn’t have the urgency. We did fantastically in the end, and we showed that urgency in the second half, so I was pleased with that response. Sometimes it’s human, it just doesn’t function right. But the tempo, the passes were not quite there. We have 75 per cent possession but we just needed a little quicker tempo.”

Paul Pogba Urges Teammates To 'Stay Humble' Amidst Injury Doubt

Manchester United ended their 8-game winning streak with a 2-2 comeback draw against Burnley on Tuesday evening.

The Red Devils recorded two late goals after going down 2-0 to avoid an embarrassing defeat against the Clarets.

Paul Pogba stressed on the fact that his teammates cannot get complacent in the wake of a very competitive race for a top-four finish. After the match the Frenchman said, “We can’t look too good, we know we have to play. Like the manager says, keep being humble. It’s not that we didn’t [stay humble], but you have to start strong, you have to be aggressive because Burnley were in the first half.”

“I think we played like we were winning maybe 1-0 or 2-0 and that’s why the result was like that. But the comeback was positive, even though the result disappointing.”

“The reaction was good, we didn’t lose, but we still let drop two points that we could have had. We have to learn from our mistakes and the next time we need to start the game differently.”

Now, United are 2 points behind rivals Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League standings. The latter has a shot at going 5 points ahead with a win over AFC Bournemouth tonight.

Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might be concerned to see Pogba limp off the pitch in last night’s fixture. The 25-year-old is a doubt for the upcoming fixture against Leicester City.

Out-Of-Favour Manchester United Youngster Wanted By Lazio

Out-Of-Favour Manchester United Youngster Wanted By Lazio

According to the latest reports, Lazio are interested in signing Manchester United youngster, Timothy Fosu-Mensah before the January transfer deadline.

The 21-year-old defender is spending the season out on loan with Fulham but has not featured much for the side in recent times. He has made 8 Premier League appearances, 7 of them starts and all recorded under former boss, Slavisa Jokanovic.

Ever since Claudio Ranieri took charge of the Cottagers, the Dutch international has gotten accustomed to simply watching his teammates play from the substitute box. United are not too happy with the lack of Fosu-Mensah’s involvement in Fulham’s regular fixtures and previous reports stated that a callback was being lined up by Ole Solskajer’s camp.

Now, in the dying minutes of the January window, an offer from Lazio could sway the Red Devils into pulling the plug on the 21-year-old’s Craven Cottage stay. Simeone Inzaghi has tried to sign Davide Zappacosta from Chelsea this month to cover the understaffed right-back department.

The Serie A outfit has still not been able to strike a deal with the Blues and might be hedging towards a loan agreement for the United academy product.

With Diogo Dalot and Ashley Young filling in on a regular basis, Solskjaer might not have any immediate need for Fosu-Mensah which could help Lazio crackdown on a last minute trade.

Anthony Martial is slated to sign a new five year deal at Manchester United.

The young forward had been on the headlines for wrong reasons lately but since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s introduction at the club, things have changed for the player. He has been given a good run of games and the player also seems to be happy with his involvement.

But the 23 year old was on the verge of exiting the club as he didn’t seem to have a good relationship with former manager Jose Mourinho. Despite repeated attempts, the player refused to agree on terms and if Mourinho had stayed at the club United probably wouldn’t have managed to extend his association with the club.

Martial’s previous deal was supposed to expire at the end of this season but United triggered a one year option which provided the club ample time to negotiate an improved deal for him.

The club is expected to make an announcement before their match against Leicester City and it could set the tone for a host of contract renewals as the likes of David De Gea, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata are yet to address their contract issues.
