Manchester United plans for Declan Rice move

Declan Rice hinted that he wants to remain in London on a long-term basis.

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to step up for Declan Rice. The Hammers midfielder has been identified as a potential transfer target for the club.

The Red Devils did not sign a new central midfielder in January but will allegedly prioritise improving in that area of the field ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

Man United will face the task with their League-rivals Man City and Chelsea to get the signature of the 23-year-old.

As per the reports of ESPN, West Ham want in excess of £100m for the Englishman, who recently hinted that he wants to remain in London on a long-term basis.

The report also adds that the Premier League giants will focus on signing a new midfielder this summer and see Declan Rice as a leading target.

The contract of England international is set to expire in June 2024 with the option of an additional 12 months. The 23-year-old midfielder has netted three times and provided four assists in 28 appearances for David Moyes’s side this season.

Manchester United are out of the FA Cup with an embarrassing defeat to Middlesbrough.

Jadon Sancho was the one to put the team on a well-deserved lead but Matt Crooks leveled the score in the second half ending the game 1-1.

The match eventually went into penalties after extra time and Anthony Elanga’s penalty miss sealed the win for Middlesbrough.

Ralf Rangnick believes the squad should take the blame for such a disappointing defeat at home.

“We gave away too many chances, especially in the first half,” United interim manager Rangnick said.

“We should and could have easily been up 3-0 after 45 minutes and even in the second half we missed some great opportunities, even after they scored their goal that shouldn’t have stood.

“But Bruno’s chance was almost like a penalty as well, so we have to blame ourselves for giving away and wasting too many opportunities in the game.

“And, in the end, if it’s on penalties it’s also a question of luck and in the end we lost that game and we are all incredibly disappointed.”

West Ham and Newcastle were also eyeing a move for Jesse Lingard.

Manchester United are getting expert in blocking the move and now they prevented Premier League clubs from signing Jesse Lingard. They also blocked a switch to Nice in Ligue 1.

Earlier, we saw how Man United blocked a move of Van de Beek who was planning to switch. Jesse has been unable to get much game time at United this season.

As per the reports of FootMercato, West Ham and Newcastle were also eyeing a move for the winger, with the Old Trafford based club not able to agree on a deal with either of them.

The source also says that Nice in France also wanted him, but was told by the Manchester club that Lingard would be staying put.

The Premier League giants may take this call following the ongoing situation of Mason Greenwood. Greenwood is out from the first team due to his involvement in the case.

Ralf Ragnick explains why the club decided to not let go Jesse Lingard to Newcastle United.

Jesse Lingard wanted to leave Manchester United this transfer window and were close to joining Newcastle on the deadline day.

But Mason Greenwood’s arrest after assault allegations changed Rangnick’s mind in United’s plan of moving forward.

The manager said: “In a way, yes, but the club told me, the board told me, they couldn’t find an agreement with any clubs interested in him. With the window closing Monday evening the board informed me they would rather he stay, so I could understand and accept.

“It was two things. We had a problem with Mason Greenwood and being without a player for the time being who hasn’t played in weeks and the club not finding an agreement with another club.”

The manager himself revealed that Jesse Lingard wanted to leave in January to get more game time in his professional career.

He said: “Three weeks ago, Jesse didn’t want to leave, then he changed his mind, I had a chat with him 10 days ago and I could fully understand why he wanted to leave to get game time for his future and the World Cup and I told him if he finds a club and the club find a solution with our club I would allow him to leave.

“But with all the developments, things changed, we also had no agreement with any other club so we had to take a final decision as the board and keep Jesse until the end of the season.”

Manchester United take lead in Erling Haaland race!

Haaland’s release clause will get active in June this year which is worth in the region of £64m.

Manchester United reportedly take one step ahead in a three-way race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Erling Braut Haaland in the summer. The Bundesliga star is a hot property and he will be the biggest signing of the upcoming summer.

His release clause will get active in June this year which is worth in the region of £64m. The Norway international is set to become one of the world’s most-sought strikers.

A report from last month added that the Premier League giants had pulled out of the race to sign the 21-year-old star as they found his interest in joining Real Madrid.

Now we have some new reports from The Sun, via FourFourTwo, which claim that Real Madrid’s primary target is Kylian Mbappe potentially and the PSG star already hinted about his move to Spain.

After Madrid’s interest in Mbappe, Manchester United will now battle it out with their rival clubs City and Chelsea. United are optimistic to win this race and sign Haaland upcoming summer.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are also planning for Haaland but we all about their financial crisis so it would be a tough battle for them.

Haaland has been a standout performer in European football, scoring 80 goals in 79 appearances across all competitions for Dortmund.

Manchester United refused to make any signings in January with no permanent manager in place

United named Ralf Rangnick as temporary manager following the firing of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November, but are yet to choose a permanent manager.

Given the uncertainty at Old Trafford, the club chose not to make any acquisitions last month, despite the fact that they had plenty of possibilities.

As a result, according to Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, they turned down the chance to sign Julian Alvarez, Denis Zakaria, and Boubacar Kamara during the January transfer window.

Alvarez then signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with local rivals Manchester City, but the Premier League champions loaned him back to River Plate for the remainder of the season.

United have been in contact with Zakaria’s agency since December but decided against signing the Swiss international. He then moved on from Borussia Monchengladbach to Juventus.

Marseille midfielder Kamara was also a target at the conclusion of the transfer window, but United opted against it because they didn’t know if it would be a wise move given the uncertainty surrounding the managerial position at Old Trafford.

According to The Mirror, Manchester United appear increasingly confident of hiring PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino as their new full-time manager at the end of the season.

Man United stand in pole position at the moment with respect to hiring their top managerial transfer target.
