Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick is excited to pit his tactics against Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone for the first time

On Wednesday, Atletico Madrid will play Manchester United in the opening leg of their UEFA Champions League round of 16 contest at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

Atletico Madrid has struggled to duplicate their form from last season, and they presently sit fifth in the league rankings, with their sights set on finishing in the top four this season.

The Red Devils will be looking to trigger an upset in the opening leg of their Champions League round of 16 encounter in Madrid, but Cavani, who has only played once for United in the previous month, will not be making the trip.

Ralph Rangnick can use his standard 4-2-3-1 system, with Cristiano Ronaldo at the helm of the assault. Pogba will play as a midfield controller alongside Mctominay, with the likes of Sancho, Rashford, and Bruno Fernandes in front of them. United is anticipated to be patient in their build-up play and to score goals with the creativity of its inside forwards.

“In those 11 years he has won trophies with a clear identity and with a recognisable playing style,” Rangnick told journalists. “And I don’t think this has changed in the last years.

“There is always an emotional side and this also reflects the character of the manager – Diego Simeone is probably one of the most emotional managers in Europe.” Said Rangnick.

Manchester United are keen on signing Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma in the summer transfer window as Ralf Rangnick looks set to add to his options in attack

Arnaut Danjuma signed for La Liga side Villarreal CF from AFC Bournemouth in the summer of 2021 for a price in the region of €23.5 million after rising through the ranks at Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.

To say the 25-year-old winger has struck the ground running in Spain would be an understatement, as he has scored twelve goals and contributed three assists in 21 games this season – frequently performing wonderfully at the top level.

Moreover, he has put up some impressive figures this season, averaging 3.1 shoots, 0.5 critical passes, and 1.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Spanish top flight. Furthermore, the Netherlands international has a WhoScored rating of 7.06 on average.

Marcus Rashford has been in poor form in recent weeks, while Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard are both expected to leave the club in the summer.

Juan Mata’s contract is slated to expire at the conclusion of the season, while Mason Greenwood has been suspended indefinitely after being arrested on suspicion of rape and violence.

Given the circumstances, Manchester United want some new winger signings if they are to bolster their current team – and Arnaut Danjuma fits the bill well.

The 25-year-old attacker from Lagos is an excellent option for the Red Devils since he is clinical, aggressive, and incredibly successful down the flanks.

Manchester United willing to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club this summer

Ronaldo signed a £480,000-a-week deal last summer upon his return to the club from Juventus.

Manchester United are reportedly open to letting Cristiano Ronaldo leave Old Trafford after the ongoing season if he decides to push for a move.

The former Real Madrid star has been a standout performer for the United. He has scored 15 goals and registered 3 assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.

The 37-year-old will see his contract expiring in 2021 with the option of a further year. The legendary footballer can leave the club if Manchester United fail to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

A recent report claimed that the Portugal captain is struggling with the pace of the Premier League this season, which could lead to an exit this summer.

As per the reports of The Mirror, Man United will not stand in the forward’s way if he wishes to seek a move away from the club ahead of next season.

The report also adds that Ronaldo signed a £480,000-a-week deal last summer upon his return to the club from Juventus, which makes him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

Man United are already seeing a downfall this season. They are fighting hard for the top-four finish in Premier League 2021/22. They are currently at the fourth spot but Arsenal have two games in hand so they have strong chances.

Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek would welcome a permanent move to Everton during the summer transfer window

The Netherlands international joined the Toffees on loan last month after a rough 18 months at United, where he struggled for regular first-team play.

Van de Beek made his Toffees debut off the bench, but he played the complete 90 minutes in the 3-0 win over Leeds United, when he shined from the defensive midfield position.

According to reports, the £120,000-a-week star sees a long-term future with the Merseyside club and will strive to join them permanently if they survive relegation from the Premier League this season.

The midfielder is eager to finish his career with the Red Devils. In 2020, the club signed him for £35 million. According to reports, they may be able to minimise their losses with a £20 million sale this summer.

The Toffees approached him on a loan last summer, but manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer persuaded him to stay with the promise of future playing time.

However, until his dismissal in November, the 24-year-old hardly played under the Norwegian. Before his loan leave, his status did not improve under interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

Van van Beek is a skilled midfielder with exceptional imagination who has fallen out of favour with two managers. He might not want to repeat the circumstance the next season.

Van de Beek was recently released by Dutch manager Louis van Gaal due to a lack of playing time, although he might be returned during the upcoming international break in March.

Brandon Williams will be crucial for Man United in the summer confirms Ralf Rangnick.

The 21-year old defender joined the Canaries on loan until the end of the season and Rangnick has been monitoring the youngster’s progress.

Williams won the Norwich Player of the Month in January and has been a regular under manager Dean Smith.

Ralf Rangnick reportedly has told the youngster that he is a part of Rangnick’s summer plans.

A source told The Sun: ‘Brandon couldn’t play when United took on Norwich in December because of the loan deal agreement.

‘He watched the game and was saying hello to some of the United players he is mates with when Rangnick made a beeline for him.

‘He said he was aware of him, that he rated him and that he definitely wanted him back at United when the loan deal ends.

‘Brandon was impressed because the manager had only been in charge for a couple of games and had a lot on his plate, but took time out to speak to him. The manager likes his speed and versatility as he can play in both full back positions.’

The Leicester City midfielder appears to be edging ever closer towards the King Power Stadium exit door following a highly successful stint with the club

Tielemans has turned down a new contract offer from Leicester City and will not be returning to the club.

The 24-year-current old’s contract is scheduled to expire in 18 months, which means Leicester may be obliged to sell their greatest asset in the summer or risk losing him on a free transfer.

According to recent sources, the 47-cap Belgium international will not be short of suitors when the market reopens. Liverpool, Arsenal, Juventus, and Real Madrid are said to have joined United in the pursuit of Tielemans, with Leicester lowering their asking price to £35 million.

Previously, the Midlands team was thought to value the technically skilled ace at over £60m, but that sum has been significantly reduced due to his contract issue.

United are now in transition under interim manager Ralf Rangnick, and a new manager is likely to come in 2022/23. And resolving the midfield may be one of the first problems for Rangnick’s replacement.

With Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard, and Juan Mata all out of contract this summer, and Donny van de Beek’s future uncertain, substantial signings may be necessary.

As a result, Tielemans may be the ideal choice to come in and shore up United’s midfield options.

Man United would be a mid-table team if not for David De Gea.

The 31-year old will definitely win the Club’s Player of the Year for the fifth time since his move from Atletico Madrid in 2011.

He put out a superb performance against Brighton on Tuesday and helped his team secure the fourth spot in the league table.

Club legend Andy Cole reckons his team would be struggling if it wasn’t for De Gea’s match-saving performances.

A post shared by David De Gea (@d_degeaofficial)

“Without this guy’s form, Manchester United are mid-table,” Cole said on Premier League Productions.

“I don’t think anyone can argue about that. His form this season has been unbelievable. That tells me Manchester United are nowhere near where they should be.

“Defensively they are not where they should be at, midfield they are not where they should be at and upfront, they are not scoring enough goals.

“Without that man, I think they would be really struggling.”

Both Harry Kane and Pochettino have been linked with United for the move.

Harry Kane has reportedly shown an interest in joining back up with former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino at Manchester United.

We all know that current PSG manager Pochettino is likely to leave Paris this summer to join the Red Devils.

Since the departure of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Pochettino has been linked with United. Harry Kane was also linked up with the Premier League giants last summer.

As per the reports of The Telegraph, Man United are keen to bring the current PSG manager and current Tottenham forward to the club over the summer, with the England captain said to be considering the switch.

Manchester United have reportedly identified the Argentine alongside Ajax manager Erik ten Hag as their prime candidates for the new season 2021/22.

Pochettino had a decent stint with PSG as he only won Coupe de France title. He failed to retain the Ligue 1 trophy and saw elimination in Champions League last season.

On the other hand, Harry Kane is already planning to find another club as he has been linked with both Manchester clubs. His inclusion will help United to target new milestones next season.

Manchester United star Paul Pogba has still not decided on his future, and will leave his final decision until the end of the season

The 28-year-old Frenchman’s contract with The Red Devils expires at the end of the season, and despite many offers from United, he has refused to sign an extension.

As a result of this predicament, a number of suitor teams, including Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, and previous club Juventus, are interested in signing Pogba on a free transfer in the summer.

Despite this list of pursuers and having turned down prior offers from United, he has not ruled out sticking with the club, according to the Daily Mail.

Pogba has been constantly criticized for his lack of consistency in a Manchester United shirt, despite his incredible skill. He has, however, won two titles since his return to Old Trafford.

According to the Mail, PSG will give Pogba an enormously lucrative contract, and with the additional benefit of playing alongside Lionel Messi and an almost certain shot at titles every season, it may be an offer too sweet for the midfielder and his agent Mino Raiola to turn down.

Pogba earns a lot of money at United, and his inconsistent performances for his childhood club since returning from Juventus for over £90 million in 2016 have left many fans wanting more from a player of his apparent talent.

Harry Maguire was lucky to get away with no penalty.

The Man United captain produced an embarrassing performance against Southampton this Saturday.

He risked giving away a penalty after he fell Armando Broja later in the game.

United legend Michael Owen assesses Maguire’s performance in recent games.

‘His lack of pace is a real problem. We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again,” Owen told Premier League Productions.

“The goal, he could have been squeezing up but he’s petrified of that space in behind.”

“I did fear for him and that was quite embarrassing,” added Owen.

“He’s got no pace at the best of times but he was outwitted there. Then you’re thinking don’t try to redeem your mistake, he just got away with it and I don’t think it was a penalty.

“But you are fearful when he’s [Broja] running towards him, you think are you going to try to do something stupid but he just gets away with it.”
