Mason Greenwood breaks silence after deadline-day Getafe move.

The 21-year-old forward has joined Spanish side Getafe on a season-long loan and was unveiled yesterday.

United decided to cut ties with the academy forward following a six-month investigation into his conduct.

Greenwood is under contract with the Red Devils until the summer of 2025 but will never be given the chance to play again.

The young forward decided to rebuild his career elsewhere and the likes of Lazio and Besiktas were among the clubs interested.

But Getafe provided an opportunity for Greenwood to rejuvenate his career and the forward has laid out his ambitions for the season.

“I am very happy to be here,” Greenwood said during his unveiling. “I have been training for four or five months, I am getting up to speed and have been training with my team-mates and feel quite good.

“We take it one game at a time and the next home game is coming in a few weeks and we will try to win and do our best.”
