Roy Keane slams two midfielders after Spurs defeat

Roy Keane had reserved harsh words for his old team Manchester United.

The club legend has questioned Erik ten Hag’s training methods after Man United’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham.

United travelled to Spurs this Saturday after an uninspiring 1-0 win against Wolves earlier in the week.

Papa Sarr scored the opening goal from close-range four minutes after the break and Lisandro Martinez scored an own goal sealing United’s first defeat of the season.

Casemiro was left exposed defensively again and Keane blasted both Mount and Fernandes for their lack of creativity in the midfield.

“They just looked lightweight,” Keane told Sky Sports. “You look at the six players high up the pitch, when you’re out of possession, they’re giving you absolutely nothing.

“When I look at Mount and Fernandes, out of possession they look like schoolboys! They haven’t got the physicality to get the ball back. We make excuses all the time for them, we’re told Ten Hag is a brilliant coach but we need to see it.

“They looked flat here. I’d like to know what they’re doing on the training pitch. Are they over-training? They don’t look full of energy.”
