Most notable players
Ryan Giggs is the most capped player for Manchester with 963 games. The Wales winger came through various ranks at the club and burst into the senior setup in 1991. he went onto collect 13 Premier League medals and two Champions League medals during his stay at the club.
Bobby Charlton is regarded as the pioneer of the modern Manchester United. the former midfielder guided the club to the European Cup glory back in the 1967-68 season.
Wayne Rooney‘s contribution to United’s recent success has been immense. The English forward was fearless on the pitch and his never say dying attitude had helped him to stamp his authority at the club. Five Premier Leagues and one Champions League speaks volumes about his gamesmanship.

Eric Cantona’s name will be on the top of this list. The French was known for his no nonsense approach and had often faced the penalties for his behaviour. Cantona ended United’s long trohy draught and led the Red Devils to back to back Premier League titles after his arrival at the club.
Bobby Charlton is regarded as the greatest ever British player to don the Manchester United shirt. The 81 year old won the first European trophy for United in the 1967-68 season and also led England to their only World Cup title in 1966.
The decorated midfielder also has three top flight titles in his tally and he currently serves as a director on the Manchester United board.
Current situation
Following Manchester United’s defeat to Huddersfield Town, it has become clear o Champions League football for the Red Devils next season. They even would have to play the Europa League qualifiers if Watford lift the FA Cup.
A number of players are expected to be given the sack as the club hierarchy is planning a squad overhaul in the next summer. Players like Ander Herrera and Juan Mata could be the first ones to leave as they are yet to agree to a new contract.

Current Squad
A number of talented youngsters with the likes of Mason Greenwood, Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong are waiting on the horizon for their chances. They have been training with the senior squad for quite a while and is expected to be involved in the next season more frequently.
Goals have become dried for the Red Devils. Despite having the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Alexis Sanchez they haven’t scored many goals in the last few games. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might need the help of the summer transfer window to fix this issue.
Paul Pogba has played a pivotal role this season, The French midfielder didn’t have a strong start but the arrival of Solskjaer fuelled his inner belief and it was his drive that started United’s resurgence. He also was the only player from United to get a place in the PFA team of the season.
David De Gea hasn’t been at his best in the last phase of this season. The Spaniard has undoubtedly United’s best player in the last few seasons but a number of errors have raised questions over his credibility.
