James Maddison urged Tottenham fans to come up with chants for him against United

“A chant would be lovely though!” said James Maddison ahead of Man United game.

Tottenham will play their first home game of the season without their legendary man, Harry Kane who left the club. The Spurs signed James Maddison and he wants Tottenham fans to come up with a chant for him.

The former Leicester man made his home debut for the club. He provided two assists in the previous game. The 26-year-old arrived in north London for £40m from Leicester earlier this summer.

Postecoglou’s side would look to find first win of the season and beating Man United can give them confidence.

“I’m really looking forward to it,” he said in the club’s matchday programme, looking ahead to the United match.

“I can’t wait to experience a home Premier League matchday as a Tottenham player and perform for the fans and repay their faith and spirit that they bring by putting on good, attacking performances.

“A chant would be lovely though! No matter how many times you’re involved in football and how long you’ve been in the game, every single time you hear your name chanted and sung it’s a heart-warming feeling that you can’t really describe. So come on Spurs fans!”
