Man United being disrespectful with David de Gea situation

David de Gea’s career with Manchester United is drifting towards its end.

The Spaniard’s contract with the Red Devils expired last month and it remains to be seen whether he stays or joins another club this summer.

The Athletic recently revealed that United has backed out of a contract agreement with the 32-year-old goalkeeper.

Man United have expressed their interest in signing Andre Onana but Inter Milan wants £51m for their star keeper.

Club legend Dwight Yorke believes Onana wouldn’t be a significant upgrade over De Gea and has also slammed United for being disrespectful with the Spaniard’s contract.

“The David de Gea situation is a bit disrespectful from Manchester United but they also have the right to do it. You never want to end your long career at such a big club, in turmoil. I understand how these football clubs work, but I also sympathise with the player.

“United have to be careful what they wish for. You don’t win the Golden Glove if you’re not a good goalkeeper. I know he’s made mistakes and some of them at crucial times, but who doesn’t? It’s a bigger risk to bring in any of the goalkeepers Man United are looking at than to stick with De Gea.”
