Paris Saint Germain Midfielder Marco Veratti Could Miss Manchester United Tie

Manchester United have been handed a major boost as Paris Saint Germain midfielder Marco Veratti is set to miss the Champions League clash.

The Italian international sprained his ankle during PSG’s 9-0 thrashing of Guingamp. The midfielder had to be subbed off very early in the game and it is feared he may miss this all important game next month.

Veratti has a knack of picking up injuries and this could be a very big blow to the French giants. The extent of the injury is yet to be known and the midfielder will undergo scans to determine the severity of this injury.

United would be happy to cash in on this advantage as the Red Devils have been on a wonderful run off late. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has single handedly changed the fortunes of his beloved club and it remains to be seen whether could capitalise on it.

PSG manager Thomas Tuchel insists he is hoping the midfielder gets fit in time as there are no other alternatives at his disposal currently. “I think that it is serious. Really, it is the worst thing that could have happened to us.”

“We have several options in midfield – Marco with Marquinhos, Dani (Alves) with Marco, Dani with Julian (Draxler), or Dani with Marquinhos. However, without Marco, and with Presnel (Kimpembe) still injured, we only have one choice.”
