Manchester United legend Paul Scholes criticised Jose Mourinho for his post-match celebration against Juventus. Manchester United scripted an upset by beating Juventus 2-1 in their own backyard.

Cristiano Ronaldo gave Juventus the lead in the 65th minute. However, a Juan Mata goal and an Alex Sandro own goal won the match for Manchester United.

After the match, Mourinho celebrated by cupping his fingers to his ears while looking at the Juventus fans.

Paul Scholes has slammed Mourinho for his manner of celebration which the former United stalwart thought lacked class.

Scholes said, “It’s not necessary for Jose to do that, but it’s everywhere he goes though. You need to win with a bit of class sometimes and just shake the manager’s hand. There’s no need for it but that’s just the way he is.”

Mourinho defended his celebration while saying that he probably shouldn’t have done it. He said, “I didn’t offend anyone at the end, I just made a gesture that I wanted to hear them louder. I probably shouldn’t have done it, and with a cool head I wouldn’t have done it, but with my family insulted, including my Inter family, I reacted like this.”

Manchester United next play a Manchester Derby at Manchester City’s home ground on Sunday.
