Erik ten Hag has identified Andre Onana as the perfect replacement for David De Gea.
The Cameroon international has worked with Erik ten Hag at Ajax and made 145 appearances under the Dutchman.
De Gea has been a mainstay at Old Trafford for more than a decade but has departed following the expiration of his contract.
Onana joined Inter Milan last year and helped the Italian club reach the final of the Champions League this term.
According to reports, Man United have already agreed on personal terms with Onana at the beginning of the month.
Journalist Rudy Galetti has confirmed both clubs have made an agreement over a fee worth an initial £42m plus £5m in add-ons.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper is keen to secure a move to Old Trafford and a deal could be finalised by next week.
‘I know him very well, we played together at Ajax,’ Antony told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
‘He is a great goalkeeper and a nice person.
‘I can only say that he is definitely very strong. And that there is a very good relationship between us.’
